Did a chat, didn’t think that would’ve possible on Sunday, cool! Answer was yescall Jim at AM and ask him. Its just that simple.
AM still in business?I'm kinda shocked that AM would confirm clearance for that brake setup. Not saying it won't clear but the S550 caliper requires more wheel clearance when installed on an S197 than it does on the S550.
are the s197 gt500 rotors a 14” rotor?Thought I had already responded, but maybe I was sidetracked.
Installing the S550 calipers on an S197 requires S197 GT500 rotors (S550 rotors will not work) and also require a shim/washer between the caliper and spindle to center the calipers over the rotors. This pushes the calipers outward and most likely will require wheel shims…

I’ve been trying to find my post and see how I got confused/mislead. I posted a thread about swapping from 2 piston to the 4 piston calipers….if memory servers I was told I just needed to get S550 calipers/pads, 14” rotor, and shims so that’s what I got.In your case (2006 Roush) I'm at a loss as to why you are trying to adapt later model 4 piston calipers & rotors when the 4 pot Brembo's are still available; will install on your car without any modification and work better for your application.
Larger caliper and wider brake pad. Even I’ve thought about it however trying to find wheels that I liked that will work without a spacer was too much of a headache. You may be able to but will likely require some shims (at the very least) as Oval Sports points out. Since the 4-pot Brembo's were meant for 2007 - 2009 GT500's you normally order components that will fit a 2007 - 2009 GT500 including the rotors/pads. Yes, the 2007 - 2009 components swap seamlessly onto the 2005 - 2010 GT (as long as you use the GT500 setup).
