    Water leak

I have a 2013 convertible. I’ve sealed the gaps between the window and the top. I had a leak in my truck and it leak into that back seat. I removed the seat and like I said sealed the glass to the top and that problem is fixed. I still have water pooling in the floor board. I checked and cleaned...

    Water intrusion

Like JC says run it through a car wash with the passenger seat out and the carpet rolled up. Check for leaking at the front and rear of the door with a flashlight. In my case the upper window seals were leaking but I also had to seal the base of the windshield and pinch welds. So far, so good...

    Rain Leak Into Cabin

Second place to look at is the window seals. They're just under the trim that runs along the top of the windows on each side. If they're leaking you'll have water puddling at the front of or back of the door/s. If it's coming from the cowl drains the carpet will be wet at the very front of the...

    Water intrusion

Yes those are now completely sealed in with dynaflex. I'm am thinking it is the seal above the window I have fans going on the lifted carpet now. There was so much water that it would seem to be obvious where it was coming in with a hose spraying water at it. The fact that I couldn't see it...

Door reseal only lasted five months

So I had the usual issue with the rear carpet flooding and I resealed both doors; not with the expensive Ford seals but with 3/4" wide 3/8" thick a/c weatherstripping. It came out fine and held through a lot of bad FL weather but yesterday my car had a musty smell and whaddya know; the driver's...

    Rain Leak Into Cabin

Apparently these things have tons of places they can leak. I had the same problem- leaking upper door seals, the matting under my carpet was soaked and that stuff never dries out. Hate to say it but you will probably have to pull the seats and center console and pull out the carpet and replace...

    Water intrusion

These were the places (circled) where I found mine leaking after checking the usual spots. yours looks to have been resealed as the original has foam (or at least mine had)under those plastic retaining clips

    Water leak

That is a tough one. I don't have a vert but I do know that if you are getting water into your body control module in the passenger kick panel you are in for a world of hurt. Take a look at it and make sure it is not going there and put a cover on the car if it is.

    Water intrusion

Been out working on it. Had the wife spray around with the hose on the cowl, hood hinge area, window seal and the gap between the door and fender so as to hit the door wire grommet. Nothing leaked. I have the passenger seat out and I was laying on my back with a flash light watching for drips...

    Quick window re-weather stripping

Hey all, I had some water leaking issues in my 05 GT, so I brought out the old garden hose and started hosing the car off. It turned out that my window seals were toast. Here’s how I resealed them since everyone on the internet is charging 130 dollars for a piece of foam weather stripping. So...

"Big 3" grounds and other things..

For consideration: Grounds - Finally found the cause of my low voltage - Beware the all important grounds. Window seals - In addition to cleaning cowl drains you might want to replace the upper window seals. They're likely perished and people often overlook them or don't know they exist. The...

    Weatherstrip leaking 2007

I have had the wet carpet issue, I know fairly common but the usual places were all good. I took the carpet out and spent a while pouring water on the car with no carpet in it. It turns out the plastic that holds the rubber seal for the window has a seal to the body. I removed the screws and...

    Quick window re-weather stripping

I did the same thing although I used a wider foam and pushed the screws through it.

    Electrical Issues with Lights

All very true. I don’t have any obvious leaks. In the 2 years that I’ve owned the car I’ve only found water in the car once after a really bad tropical storm but I had some of these issues before that. Additionally, I hardly use my AC as I prefer to roll my windows down but I do occasionally use...

    Electrical Issues with Lights

Water was an issue for some SN197 cars but not everyone (I never had a drop of leak issue). However the drain nipples in the firewall are very prone to collecting cr*p and clogging up, even just with heavy pollen, and the door drains should be checked regularly, too. Really you shouldn't have an...

Water leak on passenger AND driver side

This attachment... best resource to help you track down leaks. If up front most likely windshield grommets/doors /cowl drains. Regarding the water being hot is that due to leaking coolant or car is in a hot environment. If you're not losing coolant it's not from the heater core. I'd take the...

    Rear passenger Floor pan leaking

I think you're right. I had a 93 5.0 that had a water leak on the passenger side that was soaking the carpet. Ford dealer put a ton of caulk on the firewall. Didn't help. Turned out to be flaw in the door that was causing the seal to fail.

What have you done to your mustang today?

May not be your cowl drains. Found that my upper window seals had perished and were leaking. You can fix it inexpensively (purchase some 1/8 - 3/16" dense foam tape) for $20 at a hardware store or buy the orig replacement foam tape (60 - 100/side) from Ford. I tried both routes (my and my son's...

I got 2 holes rusted through my driver's side floorpan :(

For those of us who have fought water coming in around the window trim seals (besides replacing those seals) this should help prevent that source of leaking in the future. Ordered a pair for my son's car. Once I get them on I'll post pics. Never seen these before for our cars and really not a...

What have you done to your mustang today?

When I bought NY 2005 I found the floor to be damp. At first I thought it was the cowl drains as the cabin air filter was wet. I had to get a wiper arm puller before I could check out the drivers side. Once both covers were off I sealed up all the cowl clips. This is what I used. You will have...

I got 2 holes rusted through my driver's side floorpan :(

Saw these also on CJ Pony Parts site..............considering getting a set of these myself for my Stang as I have a set of these on my '03 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. Like the fact they are a genuine FoMoCo part...........

    What's it called?

Tops of the cowl, you're talking the metal lip under the cowl vents correct? I got some seamsealer and was planning on inspecting that area to see if I had any leaks on the seam. I plan to run the pressurized cabin test. I did order the left and right cowl vents since I snapped a tab and mine...

    What's it called?

Seal the tops of cowl with window adhesive, also the drain grommets can in fact allow for exhaust to come into cabin but you'd have to have exhaust leak before the cats and would definitely know because your engine will run like shit . Other than that get a 1 Gallon ziploc back and wrap your...
