    2014 GT CAMC Front A-Arms

Tubular aftermarket control arms are a failure waiting to happen. My buddy that I autocross with in a 2014 V6 Mustang in CAMC had BMR control arms for maybe 2 seasons but the passenger side failed at an event last year which ended his day plus associated major body damage from the wheel pushing...

    2014 GT CAMC Front A-Arms

When I get ready for this project I think I'll get some oem replacement control arms and swap out the bushings for the Whiteline stuff. Probably sometime later this summer or early fall. Thanks for all the input.

    2014 GT CAMC Front A-Arms

I'm not interested in doing a K-member swap. I just noticed that Steeda has Boss Competition front control arms that already have poly bushings installed. Seems like that might be an option for me to avoid the messy hydrobushing removal. They do come with Steeda extended ball joints which I...

    2014 GT CAMC Front A-Arms

2014 GT CAMC autocross car... I'm ready to ditch the hydro bushings in the front a-arms but not sure which direction to go. I'm considering the Whiteline anti-dive bushing set or the Ford Performance Boss 302 Delrin bushing set. Does anyone have experience with either of these or have strong...

    CAM-C AutoX Tires Rival S 1.5 or RT660

Duh! I just noticed that Falken has a 315/30r19 available. Decision time. I think I would need to relocate the rear bump stop bracket and run at least -3* camber to get the front tires to tuck under the fender well. I have 19x11 ET50 wheels and I think I might need to run more spacer on the...

    CAM-C AutoX Tires Rival S 1.5 or RT660

Terry, I'm about sold on the RT660's for my next set of tires. I can always bump the neg camber up a bit to -3* if needed but I have always ran about -0.250* total toe out which I think works out to about 1/8" on a 26" tire and have not noticed any significant wear from the limited street miles...

    CAM-C AutoX Tires Rival S 1.5 or RT660

Time for new tires for a 305/30R19 19x11 square setup. I now have Rival S 1.5s that I need to replace. I've been pretty happy with the Rivals but have been hearing a lot of good things about the Falken RT660s. Car has full Whiteline rear suspension and Vorshlag MCS TT1 coilover camber plate...

My noise was coming from the front sway bar end links.

I haven't had a chance to check anything yet. I did install new Whiteline adjustable end links when I installed the new struts and camber plates. I'll double check the end links when I get a chance to work on it.

Ok, I have now ditched the ST XTA coilovers and installed the Vorshlag MCS TT1 setup with their camber plates and springs. It was great at first but is now making noises from the camber plates... kind of a low, rattle sound. Anyone have ideas of what to check for or are the bearings just noisey?

    CAMC Wheels

Another data point to consider... the 305/30r19 tires (Rival S 1.5 or RE71R) are considerably cheaper/less expensive than 315/30r18 tires at this time.

    CAMC Wheels

Apex EC7 is a solid choice in 18x11. It is ET52 and you will need either a 20mm or 25mm spacer and longer studs on the front. For just a little more than the price of the 2 sets of ARP extended studs you can get the Ford Racing hubs with them already installed and save the aggravation of...

2014 Base GT Autocross Suspension Build Discussion

Quick update time... 2014 Mustang GT lightly prepped for SCCA CAM-C class autocross. I was running the Steeda adjustable UCA with their spherical diff bushing. I also had the Fays 2 wattslink. I have now ditched both. I don't daily drive the car but do occasional errands around my small...

    Steering Response

Tire rack may use those terms but the ST website does not... they are listed as a performance solution. They were Sam Strano's recommendation for entry level coilovers.

    Steering Response

For an inexpensive coilover solution, the ST XTA setup works very well. You get decent spring rates (400lb front and 300lb rear), single adjustable shocks and pretty good caster/camber plates. Definitely not MCS quality shocks or Vorshlag camber plates but very workable and much better than...

2014 Base GT Autocross Suspension Build Discussion

Terry, thanks for the feedback. I'm going to give this one a try as soon as I get back from vacation. I tossed my oem arm but am using the oem bracket. I had my shop install the spherical diff bushing and the Steeda adjustable UCA so I am not sure but I think the Steeda arm used a smaller...

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has run the current version of the Whiteline rear upper control arm (KTA205) with the Max-C bushings in a track or autocross car. How did it work for you, were you happy with the "feel" during hard cornering and transitions? I'm currently running a...

2014 Base GT Autocross Suspension Build Discussion

What I meant by multi-piece bushing is the Steeda dual durometer bushing with a hard inner and softer outer bushing material in the chassis end of their control arm. I have also seen a Whiteline UCA with their Max-C bushing which I like in their lower control arms. It sounds like the Steeda...

Follow up question... when I did my suspension install I noticed that my UCA bushing was in pretty bad shape but I wasn't ready to deal with that at the time. I'm now ready to deal with that hassle. I'm looking at the Steeda street control arm (with multi-piece poly bushing) for lowered cars...

You can get the ARP extended studs for the front for around $150 or just get new Ford Performance hubs with the studs already installed for $280 and save yourself the aggravation of removing and installing the studs into your existing hubs... and have new hubs which you may need anyway.

2014 Base GT Autocross Suspension Build Discussion

Just to close out this thread, I went with 19x11 et50 wheels and 305/30r19 Bridgestones. With extended studs on the front hubs and a 20mm slip on spacer I had plenty of clearance . It might be a bit tight, but I think I could have even gone with a 15mm spacer. The coilovers with 400lb/300lb...

Ok, in addition to the coilovers, watts link and bars, I justed added a Torsen T2-R. Now hopefully someone can answer a wheel questions for me. I have an opportunity to pick up a set of flow formed 19x11 et50 wheels locally at a very good price. Anyone have first hand experience with this...

Thanks for all of the comments/suggestions. I wound up going with a coilover/spring/bar setup from Sam Strano. Will be going with 305/30r19 Bridgestone RE71R's on 19x11 square wheels.

2014 Base GT Autocross Suspension Build Discussion

Thanks Norm, for the suggestions on wheel size. I'm considering the 18x11 Apex wheels at about 23lbs or the SVE flow formed 19x11 wheels at about 24lbs. Next, anyone have suggestions on spring rates for coilovers? How does 450f and 250r sound as a starting place, or more front, less back, or...
