Trans not going in to any gear but 1st

When did the problem start? gradually or all at once? What work was done before it started? When a trans solenoid fails it will cause the yellow O/D light to flash on the dash. Have you refilled the transmission to see if everything works ok again? Check the linkage from the shifter to the...

    Pinion seal replacement

Not knocking your experience but being that the car is 16-17 years old would be a significant contributing factor to a seal failure. Seals get get brittle over time and will simply fail. Agreed about the pinion nut and inspection though. That will also mean the fluid will be replaced which...

    AC low pressure switch

Could be a number of reasons why the AC has stopped working. You need to use a manifold gauge set to check out your high/low pressures with the AC on/off to see what the system is doing.

Extremely poor fuel economy and performance when engine is warm

Are you smelling any fuel? How's the performance of the car otherwise? Down on power or seems to be fine? Having replaced the intake manifold gaskets, I would look at the Fuel Trim data to see if it's now burning really lean (leak at the intake) and the Fuel Trims are all maxed out on '+'...

    AC Compressor Dead?

If you crack open the system, be sure to replace the receiver drier, the orifice tube and any related o-rings you come in contact with. No reason to half arse it at that point. These kits are inexpensive enough for piece-of-mind. I personally am not keen on remanufactured compressors so I'd go...

    Wing refinish

Yes, the high build primer will be enough unless you have deep cracks which would require filling and prepping before primming. Also for the clear, use a two part clear like this. It's expensive but a strong high-grade clear will prevent future issues. I've used it and it's not any more...

    AC Compressor Dead?

It's possible but I would order it from here vs Amazon. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,2008,mustang,4.6l+v8,1441221,heat+&+air+conditioning,a/c+compressor+clutch+components,13288 I would recommend this Part number that is the complete Clutch and bearing. It's not much more and...

    2006 Mustang GT Misfire/Runs Rough

Something to check on is the CMVC plates. They are located in the intake. As they get older they will sometimes start sticking or have build up on them. The buildup impedes air flow which can cause misfires. The Title is in Spanish but the important info is at the beginning and in English...

    Transmission overdrive issue

One other piece of advice. Check the fluid level first. It's a bit of a pain since the car needs to be level and you have to have access to the underside of the car's transmission pan. These cars do not like low fluid level and they will have shift issues from low fluid. .

    Transmission overdrive issue

If a band adjustment doesn't work, it could be servo bore wear on the overdrive band. Symptoms/Solutions. Start simple and keep going until the problems gets fixed. Worst case, install a new servo from this site. Alternative is a Trans rebuild and case repair...

    Camber & Stock Strut Mounts

Where did you get the information about rotating the upper strut bearing plate to get camber? If you have factory plates, there is no built-in adjustment. The mount studs are equal distance from the center and the center is centered, not offset. Rotating does nothing unless you have aftermarket...

    No crank no start

There is an alarm module under the passenger side dash. You need to remove the glove box and it should be parked above and just to the left of the blower box. That module can go out over time. The dealer can simply bypass the starter circuit without changing the operation of the system. Or, if...

Modifying an unknown tune without the stock tune.

I would agree except for it was resold as a salvage title by the tow company for about $4k. I've kept an eye on the VIN to see if it pops up as a resale or if someone is asking about a salve car they bought on either this forum or mustang forums. The vast majority of the damage was body damage...

Modifying an unknown tune without the stock tune.

Not a fact. I owned my 2008 since new until it got totaled in 2022. It was tuned. When my insurance company paid it out, i gave them the second key. I asked if they needed/wanted the tuner they said no. I have the married tuner. It's a SCT3 (bought it in 2010). I will probably scrap it...

    Bouncing idle only when moving?

The 62mm TB is Ford product? If not, that could be your problem. Aftermarket TB's on these cars seem to not be nearly as reliable as the Ford products.

5R55S slipping into Neutral at stop

That's odd that you never experienced issues until now being two quarts low. Glad you got it figured out though. It is possible that it was under filled from the previous work. I would recommend checking the level again after a few weeks to make certain nothing has changed.

    Is it possible? TPMS

That's not a factor. My 08 had band style TPM when one failed I decided to switch to Valve Stem type. As long as the frequency is correct you can swap them like i did. OP, if you're going to get new TPM sensors then just buy the valve stem style witht he correct frequency for your year car...

Trouble shooting a no start again...

White smoke is usually coolant. How's that coolant level looking in the reservoir? How's the oil cap looking? Any condensation or milkiness?

    2010 Mustang GT Defroster

Front defrost turns on the AC regardless of what temp setting you have so that is normal. The light not turning sounds like the light burned out since the AC is still kicking on. Does the air still come out of the dash and is it still cold when set to cold or warm when the temp is set to warm...

5R55S slipping into Neutral at stop

Trans pump replacement would not require a new transmission unless the pump has blown up and turned into shrapnel or you ignored a slipping problem for to long and clutches and bands are all burnt up. The pump sits directly behind the Torque Converter. To remove it you have to separate the...

    How many miles you got?

'08 GT Premium 93K. Daily driver but work is only 15-20 minutes away on surface streets (10-12 miles) . I'll drive it to Sedona or Flagstaff during the weekend for fun but for longer road trips, out of state, I'll rent a car. Let the rental get the road rash.

    Looking for ported heads.

Ford Racing makes some but they are hard to find. Or take your heads to a local shop to have them do heads rebuilding with a port and polish. If not here then Ebay. It looks like the Right Hand side is super hard to find as all references I find are the Left Side Head...

Car gets to 100 and has a miss

Op, you have an issue you want to fix but, you also want to do some upgrades. Fair enough but, fix the problem at hand first, then go after upgrades. You are assuming that the Cats are the problem but, what if they're not? With so many variables thrown into the mix (new parts, new tune, etc)...

    Crankcase oil longevity.

Oil analysis is the best way. Oil will gain moisture over time so unless the car has been vacuum sealed and in storage, it will have collected water. Water leads to oxidation/corrosion so, unless you plan on driving it, save the oil but if you may occasionally take it out, change it, better yet...

    5r55s issues

The solenoids are a weak link in these transmission. The transmissions themselves are typically fine mechanically with the exception of the input shafts, the intermediate/overdrives servos, and the band adjustments. The rotational pieces rarely fail unless it's a cheap rebuild/reman job...
