    S197 Mustang 18x8.5” Bullitt Wheels

I am selling a set of four Ford Racing M-1007-S1885S silver bullitt wheels. These are 18x8.5” and for 2005 through 2009 Mustang and GT models. They may fit later models and have a +53mm offset according to Ford Racing. These are straight and solid. Overall good condition. Center caps included No...

    Taller rear springs?

This is still on my spring "to do" list. Bi-weekly snow the past few weeks has kept me from even thinking about it. In any event I agree, when a car is lowered, spring rates must rise. I guess Steeda did not crank the spring rates high enough. I am going to speak to Sam at some point to...

Thanks Sam! I will give you a call to discuss.

    Taller rear springs?

Thanks everyone. Sam thanks for clarifying on the sprigs. We are on the same page. The H&R sport springs I had before these were progressive rate and when combined with Bilstein shocks the car was a pogo stick. The setup you sold me was a huge improvement. I believe it settled about 3/8" since...

    Taller rear springs?

Thanks. I usually have the shocks either at full soft or 25% but can try that. Really at this point my goal is to get the car level or slightly up in the rear with me in the car. That was the case when the springs were new. Now not so much. The photo in my sig is from when the car was new in...

    Taller rear springs?

Thanks guys. I am going to see what I can find spacer or adjustable mount wise and go from there. I want to stay linear for sure. I had progressive H&R springs a few years ago and the progressive coil design was not my cup of tea. Made dialing in damping very difficult and the car was too...

    Taller rear springs?

Contacted Steeda in the fall. They recommended cutting the bump stops one more level. Suspension travel was better, but the loud thunk over bumps when accelerating turned out to be the bump stop mounting screws hitting the bottom of the frame rail. The FRPP stops protect the car but are...

    Taller rear springs?

Anyone run into issues with the Steeda sport springs just being too low in the back especially after they settle? I really want to swap out the rear springs for something taller but do not know what to try. FRPP springs? Steeda sport rear vert springs? I have the sport springs and Koni's from...

    Rough idle/stall

Also trying another MAF may not be a bad idea, and make sure there are no leaks downstream of it.

    Rough idle/stall

How did you clean the throttle body? Did you remove from the car and get it nice and clean? Sounds like an idle air control issue and that is all throttle body related. I had similar symptoms that went away after a really good TB cleaning

Midpipe install gone terribly wrong, broken studs!

Like others have suggested, it is one of these issues that is best solved on the bench. Worst case a machine shop could fix it. On another car I had the studs removed, holes drilled and heli-coiled, then installed 316 stainless studs with flex lock nuts and stainless washers.

    wiper cowl fading

I have the same problem. Also my wiper arms are peeling even though I touched one of them up already. New cowl plastic is like $120 to $140 a pair I think.

Found a water leak in the trunk, thought I'd share some pics

Had the same issue. It is partly due to the trunk hinges flexing the area near the seam. Once the tail lights are removed, the seam can be fixed with 2 part seam sealer and painted with a brush after it dries. Make sure you seal the tail lamp nuts with strip caulk when reinstalled

    H&R Sport Springs, Used.

I should but have to check when I get home. The photo in my signature was taken with stock springs. If I have a good photo I will post it but I am not sure if I have a good side shot. They are about a 1" drop spring. My new springs are Steeda Sports. I measured the ride height on a level...

    Do '07 18" Premium wheels work w/Brembos?

Ditto. 1" H&R or Eibach spacers do the trick. Note that you will have to trim the tips of the factory studs on the car back a bit with a cutoff wheel and dress them to avoid them hitting the back of the wheels. I have been running this setup for 60K miles now over NJ and NY roads. Summer...

You knew it was coming...Porsche Build Thread

Front and rear bumpers are cast aluminum. Not sure about the roof panel. The hood and fenders are steel. Doors are steel. Fenders are steel and weigh nothing. Everything on these cars is dipped in galvanize and epoxy primer from the factory.

You knew it was coming...Porsche Build Thread

Whats amazing is that these cars were 2900lbs dripping wet with a ton of insulation, were made entirely out of steel and built like a tank.

steeda hd mounts vs. gt500 mounts

Sounds good Sam...I will keep that in mind. They just look a little different than other OEM mounts (not crappy ford ones) I have seen. Most people seem to like em. Sitting here looking at the GT500 mounts, almost seems like a lubrication issue. I am sure the plastic balls turn to crap after a...

steeda hd mounts vs. gt500 mounts

I have the Steeda mounts and the new GT500 mounts sitting on my desk. For some reason, when I look at the bearing in the Steeda mount it does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. In comparison to other OEM mounts I have used on 80's porsches and the like the steeda mounts just seem like they have...

    Caution about footwear while driving

I have had the same thing happen in dress shoes of all things. The had an odd foam like bottom and slid right off of the brake coming into my favorite morning commute corner. In the 944, the footwell is tight, any type of boot on my size 12 foot and it gets uncomfortable.

Poor Spanky!! The story of my 2011 GT

If I was in Ford's shoes, there is no way in hell I would honor an internal engine failure if an aftermarket tune was run. Too many unknowns, too many tuners. Not their job to figure it out. We can mock ford's factory tunes all we want but they ran more testing on them than any tuning shop in...
