Im going to be installing my JLT oil separator in spring. I know that it's not plug-n-play so I ordered just the separator, no fittings. I don't have immediate access to my car because it's in storage. I need to know from other 05'-09' Whipple owners with JLT seperators exactly what I need to buy so I can hook it up. From the pic I have it looks like I could just splice it into the existing hose. Don't know hose thickness, JLT has a 5/8" threads on each side of can. I'm not mechanically inclined so I need your guys help on what exactly to buy & where, thanks.

Jay, IIRC correctly I posted whats all needed in a thread. Was a long time ago. I'll send you some pics when I get home if that will help? Cant remember the sizes right off hand though. The brass fittings I used, HD and Lowes didnt carry. Went to a local Mom & Pop hardware store for the fittings. Its not that hard. Two brass fittings, two hose clamps and yes you can use the existing hose.

Thanks, Ray. I do have your post along with pics, I just wanted more clarification on parts. Here is what you posted:

Here are some pics of the oil seperator. I bought it without the fittings because of the 5/8" hose that comes with the Whipple and the fittings Jay has are for 1/2" hose.. I bought 3/8" NPT to 5/8 barb fittings. If you cut the OEM hose and inserted in the 5/8"hose you can use one of the 1/2" fittings.

I bought my JLT without the fittings as well. Don't understand where the 3/8" dimension comes from on brass fittings you mentioned in your post. If the hose is 5/8", that makes sense, but the threaded opening on either side of the JLT separator is 5/8" as well. Wouldn't that mean that I would need 2- 5/8" x 5/8" brass fittings along with 2 hose clamps & splice into existing hose. Please clarify for me.

Yeppers. You got it. Its been so long I dont remember. You may be right on the sizing. Just purchase brass fittings that will fit the separator (npt threads) to 5/8" hose barb like the pic below. Somewhere I read KB blowers or Whipples were collapsing the hose. So on the piece closet to the intake of the blower I inserted a cut piece of the stock OEM hose into the 5/8" line and used the OEM connectors .
