Exactly, for Jason and I to be legal in ESP for SCCA Autocross we need to run the Ford part.

Regarding update/backdate rules, could I then theoretically swap a new 5.0 BOSS 302 motor into my 2007 GT? Would I have to adapt the electric power steering? Or could I run a manual rack for ESP?

There is a kit to install a power steering pump on the new Coyote/RoadRunner 5.0s, so you could just use the stock rack.

Yes you can, I think you do have to swap the tranny as well. Sam would know this for sure. It would be an interesting move from a weight savings stand point, considering the 05-09's are a lighter chasis then the 2011 chasis.

Its complete component assemblies. SO another words, no you would not have to swap the trans with the engine.

So, you have a Boss 5.0, 5spd, and 3.73's. That should put you close to 70ish mph in 2nd.

Guess I should grab a couple of Trans to keep on the shelf. I know Madarash (multi-time ESP national champion) breaks his T5 every couple of years in his firebird. I would bet that Pro-Solo's would not help in keeping the 5spd together.

Are you running SS at Nats Sam?

I can go 65mph with my stock gearing and a little bump of the limiter. And my motor makes more torque than a Boss. :)

I hear tell the transmission from a 4.6 will bolt up, don't know if it's true. If it is, I think a standard 5.0 would be better since the car has more torque.

I'm running the ProFinale in my Mustang (which I've been working diligently on the last few weeks. Got it into the 3400 range which is good as the Shelby and my Camaro are both there (this is still a touch heavier, but over 100 pounds lighter than when I weighed it stock, and less than it was in Lincoln in May). I am then switching to the Corvette to run Super Stock for Nationals.

I sure hope you win them both but especially SS. I've got two wagers right now - $100 says you finish ahead of Braun and another $50 if you win SS. Of course you'll end up with that money from me eventually anyhow. :)
