2011 mirror glass in 2010 mirror housing

Does anyone know if this is possible? The mirror housing looks the same. Dealership does not know if this can be done and the cost of the 2 pieces is about $120. 2 new mirror housings are about $250.

Any help would be appreciated.

2010 Black GT 5 speed
Glass roof, HIDs, 3.73, Electronics package, racing stripe seats, 19" optional wheels w/P Zero Nero tires, Zaino show car polish.

Yes, they are interchangeable. I personally hate the 2011 glass but to each his own.

I just ordered a passenger side mirror for my 2010 and it was $88 and some change shipped. He operates out of a Ford Dealer on the West Coast. I have ordered from him before with very good results.

What's the difference?

The 11's have a built in convex mirror. I don't know why you'd need it unless you decide to hook a trailer up.

I agree. The 2011 mirrors suck. To me they are 10 times harder to see out of than the old style.

Thanks for all of the responses. I hate moving my mirrors all of the time to back up. Also I am one of the few sick people who does pull a trailer.

$88 ? seems a little pricey. I had to buy a passenger side mirror for my wife's 06 after I screwed it up with a dremel. Paid $35 from the OEM manufacturer.

I think Mustangworld.com sells decals that go over and say "Objects in mirror are losing"
