Isn't there a big price difference between a used 11/12 and a new 13/14? That should be a deciding factor.

Depends on the deal...the used car market is super hot right now and over inflated!!

I bought a new '13 gt premium with brembo, glass roof, recaros & 3.73's...i paid 33k out the door...i think you'd be hard pressed to find a used '11/'12 with similar options for much cheaper...

It just finding the right deal...dealers have found out, the service dept and warranties are where money is made, so most will give cars away, almost...to earn the service biz and upsellnon the warranties.

Assuming OP is financing, the interest rate on a used car will be more than a new one. Ford says 0% up to 60 months and 1.9% for 72. Also something to consider. I ended up getting my new '12 Tacoma cheaper than a used '10 I was looking at simply because of the interest rate.

I just pit all the dealers against each other....some came back with some good deals...a few 500 below invoice and then i negioated from there and thats what i landed on ;-)

I purchased many cars in my fairly short 12 years of driving...14 to be exact, 11 brand new and i have never paid more the 3k under invoice...just bought my wife's car for 4k under invoice. :) just gotta know how manufacturers and dealers work and you can get great deals.

Also another massive revenue stream is user car sales... We all know how bad dealers rape you on trade (usually, i should say)...the profit margin is usually massively higher on them than new cars...

Dealers also get big end of year monies for new cars financed through manufacturers financing company, inventory moved, warranties, etc...so alot of dealers choose to only make a couple of hundred on the car to have more oppurtunities to hit the numbers on the other things...you just have to find the dealer willing to do that.

Also my car was ordered to my exact specs...NOT on the lot, which is also a bit out of the ordinary as most dealers want to move stock off the lot and are willing to deal on those...but not on a new order.

OP also didn't mention if he was financing or what his budget was. I'm not against new cars, I bought mine new. Got a great deal, great rate, and I felt good contributing to the fine folks a Flat Rock. In addition, I didn't have to worry about what the previous owner may have done to the car. That being said, I've seen some crazy deals on used 2011 and 2012 cars. Hell, I saw a 5.0 for $22,000. Think the question should be about what options he wants. Because I've also see killer deals around here on base 2013 5.0 Mustangs.

P.S. I also prefer the front end of the 2011/2012, really like that hood design. Although I love the new tail lights on the 2013/2014. Best tail lights ever. Wish my car had them. :(

Oh sorry I didn't mention but my 2011 gt was premium and I really want the 2013 premium. I found a few 2013s 6000 under invoice brand new. That's 30000. I may still try to talk them down an extra grand even though 30000 is fair in my book. I paid 41000 for my premium 2011 in 2010. But if your impatient. That's what happens.

2013, the Front and rear design is enough(for me anyway).

The 2014 is out now.... just bought one and love it.

so that means if any 2013's are still on the lot you should get some decent rebates....

Gizmo5 would disagree as he lost a trans on his 13 with hard shifts and not only one I know one even with a boss. And my 12 is doing just fine with ring piston making over 700whp on stock engine.

Just Another 700whp DD 5.0

Lost my trans at 1400 miles on my 13 also.
