Do you really think a 40 year old lady would drive the 10k miles smoking?

She would drop it off and not pick it up untill fixed

And call and nag every day lol

No your average 40 year old women would not even notice it but just gas it and go!!! Probably run it out of oil and blow it.

Before you ladies get bent out of shape, I know there are some exceptions!!!!!

the shame of this situation is, if the OP finds a GT500 at his dealership, they would give him a low trade in because it smokes, but yet Ford says its normal smh

I finally got to watch his video!!! Yeah Darren your right!!!! "Normal oil consumption" in this case is fighting words!!!!

FYI........don't buy used 5.blows!!!!!!!
They may be a trade in because of "NORMAL" oil consumption/smoking issues!!!!! Lol

Im in talks with ford......that's about all I can say at the moment.

at the very least you should get the new long block from ford. I say take that paper and show it to the dealer you are trying to trade it in to. They should give you normal trade money. All this is bullsshitt.

If he get's anything it'll be a complete drop in. With the oil consumption a mystery, Ford won't risk swapping anything over from the old motor. It'll be all new, if that's the route they choose.

I'd say let it ride man. Kinda agree with the other guy. It'll still be under warranty in 10k miles, and you can get a new one. My truck didn't smoke, but it did take a good 8-10k miles to break in. Only reason I noticed it honestly was the gas mileage slowly increased. You have only one guy to prove wrong it looks like. Waitin him out, prove he's wrong and "get yo motha fuckin' movie check," LOL

OP - I hate to used the "L" word, but you may only get Ford's attention if you file a lawsuit. I had to do this back in the early 90's with the infamous oil pump drive shaft issue, and was given the same BS by Ford. After escalating it to the highest levels, I finally was forced to file suit.

Lo and behold, less than 30 days later the issue was resolved to my satisfaction.

Well it appears that ford is standing by its original statement and that the smoking and oil usage is normal. They told me that the engine will not be broken in until 10k miles. So my choices are deal with it, or trade it in.

Then why don't they all do it? How many 5.0's do you see a day smoking like a smoke stack? What you should do is just choose a random 5.0 on the lot and tell them to start it and watch for smoke. I bet it won't. Damn ford pisses me off.

I'd wait it out as long as you don't run out of warrenty. Although getting a 500 would be great, you don't want to lose money, unless you have it to spare.
