This is all i found regarding transmission:
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=986

"Updated manual gearbox (Getrag 6-speed)
revised shift linkage for shorter throws / smooth shifting

Automatic with paddle shifters (SelectShift 6-speed)
rev matching
redesigned case with lighter internals"

Flappy paddle gear shifters with rev matching??? It's about dang time Ford! Thank you! My next Mustang wil be an automatic. But I will still wait until they make it in grabber blue.

I know you don't have a vagina, and I know you know this isn't a wannabe sports car... That shit is for imports and wannabe sports cars i.e the nissan juke.

You disappoint me.

haha! I figured someone would chime in on my comment! Since my car is a DD, It sees a lot of stop and go on the morning and evening commute. Don't get me wrong, I love a proper manual gearbox (I have a Miata as an autocross/track toy with a manual), but there are times I just don't feel like shifting gears (i.e. leaving the gym after a hard workout). I think the auto with flappy paddle shifters is a great compromise.

And BTW, Porsche doesn't even offer the new 911 GT3 with a proper manual, only an auto with a flappy paddle gear box. So they can't be just for "wannabe" sports cars!

You brought up Porsche, therefor your opinion is null and void LOL.

We all know the type of guys who drive Porsches... I WOULDN'T say that they DO NOT have a vagina...

I get what you're saying though, but I don't find anything about paddle shifters intriguing

Yea I just didn't expect a small detail like that for aero on a mustang

Ford aimed to make the Mustang appeal to everyone on the globe. Europeans like aero and small details.

Hell, I see it as a good thing.

Ok. In less than 12 hours, I have grown to love the design. While I was expecting a better front end, I can see CDC producing a better open grille design like they did for the 2013 Gt500 Style grille they made, as the OEM front as cues from it as it is. But the real thing that sells this car to me is the revised 5.0 that I was hoping for. I was expecting boss like revisions and my expections were met and plus more. I'm betting on Ford rating the new 5.0 as a 450 HP and 400 TQ car.

Only concerns:

-IRS strength
-Revised A6 strength with lighter internals and casing (I usually read lighter from a OEM standpoint to be weaker and I hate for the A6 to be weaker since that to me is its biggest selling point to me over the MT-82)
-Any gains from removing the charge plates
-If a CJ or BOSS intake will fit under the hood since they mention it is 1.5 inches lower.
-If you can fit my Steeda Spyder wheel setup on the car or at least a 315 tire on a 19'' wheel.

it looks stupid as shit. Way to fuck up the mustang even worse since the 2010-2013 ugly models. I knew I should have just got a vette.

I'm pretty damn sure Ford learned from the 03-04 Cobra. This isn't a compramised IRS. And I'm also pretty sure they beat the ever living shit out of it during testing. I wouldn't worry.

Once again, Ford tested it, and it should hold up fine. I haven't heard of any A6's having issues yet, and there is guys pushing over 900HP through them.

Top end, just like on the 3V and 96-98 Cobras.
-If a CJ or BOSS intake will fit under the hood since they mention it is 1.5 inches lower.
It would have to be test fitted, or the 13-14 measured and then calculated.
-If you can fit my Steeda Spyder wheel setup on the car or at least a 315 tire on a 19'' wheel.
The articles did say they set the IRS was setup to accomodate LARGE tires. Remember the SVT test mule?

Yeah, because the plain jane, boring, and takes quite a bit to look good 05-09 design isn't stupid at all either...

Hell yea that's a good thing. All I can hope is that they put that much thought into every other aspect of this car.

you know i wasn't digging the front end until i saw post 192. that color and that angle....hmmmm....i think i'm liking it already, after only a few hours.

there may be a next generation mustang in my future.

and there won't be any need for drop springs of any sort. it may not be as drag strip friendly as the current version(s), but i think i can get over that
