Slow and no torque. Handling that you couldn't use 25% of. Brakes you couldn't use 10% of. I don't even think they look THAT good.

I've been driving around our 15 GT PP with Recaro's a lot lately. Big wheels and tires, PD blower making 600 at the tires, springs and some cosmetic mods. It drives just like Ford made it that way. Perfect DD. And IMO a LOT more fun to drive on the street.

I'll take a blown GT over the GT350 for a street car every time. Or wait for the GT500.

If I was going to do 5-10 track days a year and I was fast (can use the performance), which I am. I would definitely want the GT350. I was at the track yesterday. Having a GT350 would have been FANTASTIC!!!

Don't get me wrong, the GT350 is a masterpiece. Just not a masterpiece targeted as a DD/street car. Which is what 99% of GT350 buyers will be doing with their cars. It's not a bad street car. There are just cars better suited to it for the same if not less money.

I'm nit picking. Yes, I would drive a GT350 every day. I just wouldn't spend my money to do it.

Also the way you fellas talk about the S550's makes me want one so bad but I like the look of my car so much more. If I could put the S550 suspension under my car like the test mules I would be so happy.

It's not THAT gutless down low. It feels like a Yote with more top end. But a tiny bit softer down low. But I think Yotes are gutless too. My 12' is a turd. PD blowers ruin you.

The limited run of 150 2015 model GT 350s and 37 GT 350 Rs sold out before the first one was built.

Not a surprise. So, everyone can keep wanting for another year. I shudder to think of the markup on those cars.

The weight certainly doesn't seem to be bothering the car in competition so far.

They're still about 90-100lb extra over the front.

Don't get me wrong, you can solve a lot with stiffer springs and more rubber. But for a really focused track car NA is the way to go.

Well hopefully by the time I am done I will have enough power to have some fun on a track and keep pace with some of the more powerful cars supposing my driving and suspension are up to the task.

I was at a track day Monday with a pretty serious crowd. The fastest laps were being put in by a BOSS 302 LS with a stone stock motor/trans. Power wasn't an issue.

He did have about the entire Multimatic catalog on it though. Dynamic dampers, big CCW wheels with Conti slicks, lots of big coolers. Still stock brake calipers though, good rotors.

I was driving my friends 07 with a really good suspension, but with 275mm 320 treadwear rated tires. It was a blast having the car unhooked front and rear almost everywhere, but it would have been more fun being able to really lean on some tires.

It was a last minute deal. His track rims haven't showed up. So he ran the street wheels/tires. We were there for me to coach/train him. So it was actually a good setup because the car moves around/rotates/etc at a much lower level. I could get him to feel the feel, but without having to go stupid fast to do it.

It was fun for me. There is nothing like when people come up to you in the pits that you were "dicing" with on the track to shoot the shit and they notice you are running STREET tires. Skinny street tires! There were a couple of dejected Z06/Porsche drivers after they saw that.

A local 2012 LS owner around here has been running (racing) his the day it arrived at the lot (stock tires were bald within a month). He now has aftermarket rotors, I think he swapped all calipers to Willwood or BAER (might see his car tonight to confirm), and has a centri system in it pushing 600-700 rwhp. I'm sure bone stock it was a fun car to drive, but now with all of the power, every time he comes to the track (strip or road course), he spins the wheels, misses shifts, etc. It is just out of control.

It maybe "slight" driver error (this guy races cars like crazy, so he definitely has seat time), but it seems all the power he added has made the car a little too wild.

I mean ever. I run NT05's all summer, and buy a new set every year. If/when I get a daily, it's going to get something with like 700+. No reason to have a tire that sucks for 25-30k when I can have one that sucks for 60k or more. And some of the best learning I did autocrossing was on cheap ass all seasons.

And I don't know what's better, having somebody look down on you at the beginning of the day and then besting their time by a wide enough margin to eat a sandwich, or somebody wanting to see your setup after getting beat by you and realizing that he spent WAY too much money to be that much slower.
