Do you do it or do you stick to 1st?
Gear ratio?
Stock clutch?

Researching I get a lot of people saying it is extremely hard on your clutch, but I can't find much collective data specific to S197s as well as gears like 4.10s.

I have Hoosier Drag Radials and 4.10 gears and a stock clutch. I think I'm going to do the 2nd gear burnout to make sure my tires are getting to temperature but hate to trash my clutch.

2nd gear is the correct gear - unless you have a very low rear gear - so with 4.10s it's perfect

see 55-60 MPH for 3-5 seconds

I prefer to use Google when searching forums because the search engines on forums are generally subpar. For some reason, this site does not respond well to the "site: www.s197forum.com 'whatever you are searching'" format. Every other forum I frequent for any other hobby works well using method.

For instance, this: "site: www.s197forum.com 2nd gear burnout" gets nothing.
This: "site: www.mustangforums.com 2nd gear burnout" does.

I suspect that using google is not a good choice for private forums since you have to be logged in to see the content. Personally I think this is a good thing for better privacy and separation from the dredges of the Internet.
