If you are suggesting the new master cylinder you installed had greater volume than the old one and moved the slave cylinder further, I sure would like to know which master cylinder you installed. I could use more throwout travel.

not so much greater volume than stock I just believe the worn master just wasnt pushing much fluid and the increase in fluid by putting in a new oe master could have been what was the final nail in the coffin. Either that or the amount of times i had to actuate the slave used up whatever life it had left in it. I have heard the 13-14 gt500 master cylinder does push more fluid, unsure on how much but seems to be a popular choice to raise the clutch engagement level

I have a question regarding the clutch slave cylinder in the attached phot. Wouldn't the slave cylinder in this bad a shape be leaking fluid?

I would guess it would have leaked a little being at the extreme end of its travel but it could have blown apart all at once. Fluid would be all over the bellhouse and ground underneath it.

I have 06 GT with 5 speed manual trans. In 2022, I replaced the clutch master cylinder due to broken plastic piece on the end of cylinder. Every was ok until a week ago, on the way home, could not get the trans into gear. After turning off the engine, I could shift and limped it home. I have checked the master cylinder and see no external leaks. Reservoir is full, no leaks on any of the lines.
So, wondering if my slave cylinder is bad. Master cylinder feels like it has pressure and pedal comes back up.
The pic is not mine just as a reference. If a slave cylinder goes bad wouldn't it be leaking fluid?

Broken plastic piece .. It broke because you needed to replace the clutch then.
