After looking through the owners manual, a chilton manual, online schedules, and other forums, I really can't nail down exactly what I should do for my 30K services besides these guys here:

Change Oil/Filter (Will be jumping to 5w30 full syn.)
Change Fuel Filter
Pull the spark plugs and reinstall new ones (Rather do this now before they get a bigger chance to seize/break)
Inspect cooling system, heat shields, serpentine belt...

I saw these as well, not consistently though, on other forums:

Change the transmission fluid and filter.
Service the cooling system (drain, flush and refill).
Change the brake fluid.

What actually should be done here?

Cooling system isn't a bad idea. I would also inspect the brakes and lines. Seeing that your car is a 06, even though its low mileage hoses (brake and vacuum alike) should be inspected. They should be ok though. :thumb:

Brake fluid is not a bad idea either.

If its an auto i would definitely change the transmission fluid.

Cabin filter should be changed if it hasn't been changed before.

Those are just some of my ideas

I didn't really do any specific 30k maintenance but I agree about changing your brake fluid.

I just did mine when I installed new lines and it was horrendous. It only had 35k on it but it had a lot of dirty sludge in it and looked like muddy water.

How long since you removed and inspected your mass air sensor? I would hit that with some MAF cleaner too. Pull your intake hose as well and look at your throttle body. I always check little stuff like that when doing routine maintenance...

Cleaned the MAF and throttle body when I installed the JLT around december. I might have another go at the TB just to be redundant. Brake fluid swap for sure, I'll look into the cabin filter as well. Probably wouldn't hurt to flush and fill the radiator either seeing as it's 6 years old and I don't know exactly how the previous owner attended to it. My car is a stick so it looks like no worries on the transmission fluid/filter?

Check your suspension components for any bushing damage, isolator wear, end links, etc etc.

Change the rear gear if you at it. Don't forget the friction modifier from ford. I even run it with royal purple just to be safe.

For what it's worth if you are doing a rear gear oil change get an aftermarket differential cover. Makes it so much easier to change and adds a bit more fluid capacity.

Gears aren't really my priority at the moment but I'll be sure to do that if/when it changes. Is a transmission fluid swap even necessary at 30k?

I have the same questions and to add on:

What parts of our chassis/suspension can be greased? I always see "inspect and lubricate chassis/suspension components". Are there zerk fittings on the car somewhere?

I don't think gears are necessary to change and I thought the coolant was lifetime coolant (maybe not on the 06 cars?).

For the 5 speed gearbox I would definitely recommend changing the fluid to Syncromesh. You can buy it at most auto parts stores for $8 per quart, you need 3.2 quarts. Tremec began recommending this fluid for the gearbox about 2 years ago. It certainly made mine shift much smoother.

Would you change it if it has no problem though? Mine shifts smooth as butter with no noises.

Also, what brake fluid are you all running?

For a 6 year old car, yes. I would change it as a preventative maintenance thing if nothing else.

My cousin is a former Ford tech turned aerospace engineer, and when I bought my car used a few years ago (2007 3V auto), he told me the transmission fluid and coolant are designed to go over 100K miles before needing service. Mine has 74K and I have never changed the tranny fluid or coolant. Just my :2cents:

05 auto here, my trans went to crap at 38k, I would highly recommend you get it changed ASAP. With no dipstick, its hard to know if it will reach 100k or not, mine did not, and cost a crap load to rebuild too.

Did it give you any warning that is was going out? Maybe you just were unlucky and had a bad trans. I have heard nothing but good stuff about the 5R55S. Mine shifts as strong as the day I got it. Albeit, I don't really drive it all that hard on the street.

the sylenoid went out, and would not shift into O.D. but yea, at first it started not shifting as hard as normal, and slipping a little, bands were broken and other crap. No dipstick and no overflow tank, can lead to disaster.

IMO, going 100k on the same tranny fluid is rediculous. Even if ford or the manual says that you shouldnt ever go that long on the same fluid because it eventually breaks down especially after 100k.
