guys , this one has me wondering so I'm hoping for some tech from some guys that know the fuel system on a 05/11 mustang.

the car : ford racing biw. "road race car"
the donor 07 gt mustang. ie Gas tank ,fuel lines and wiring

the motor ford racing 5.0 coyote

I bought the ford racing controls pack . This is basicaly a stand alone electronics package to make a 5.0 run in basically anything.

It requires a return style fuel system.

What I was thinking about doing was trying to run the 07 gt fuel tank, lines and pumps. I know you can jump a few wires in the back of the car at the module to get the pump to come on.

What I would like to do is fake the factory pump out and make it run whenever key is on. Have a fuel pressure regulator up around the engine with the exit side of the regulator returning to the passenger side of the tank.

do you think it's possible to fake this pump out and make it run all the time with key on and will the helper pump be able to still work with moving fuel over to the main pump ?

We produce return style fuel systems for the 05-2010 Mustangs that utilize the Fore Precision Works Billet hat that still pulls fuel from the other side of the tank just like the factory set-up. Pumps are on with key on, full time. The only issue is is getting it to work with the 5.0L as you would need aftermarket rails and no one produces a set... yet. If you could figure out the rail situation, we have a few solutions for everything else.

Derek, motor is stock so not needing anything more then what a stock fuel rail can handle and since I have to run a regulator on it since a 11 has no fpr I was just going to do "an" fuel line from the factory fuel line into the regulator. and run a "an " line to the factory fuel rail."an" out of regulator back to the tank.

We can set-up the fuel systems that way, that's how it's set-up in our GT500 actually (except we do have rails). All that really needs to be done is figure out which rail adapter would be needed for the stock rail. The stock pumps are not meant to be run full time like a Walbro pump is, so I don't think wiring the stock stuff to run full time will work out for very long.

do you make a replacement pump that would fit in the stock tank pump location and has a hat that would allow a return line to plum into it ?

my understanding is the helper pump only comes on to keep fuel level the same between the two ?

yes, as stated in my original post, all of our system use Fore Precision Works pump hats that work in the same exact way as stock when it comes to moving fuel across the tank.

U can stick a wlabro in there and put it on a relay. we turned an 04 car into a return like that... run an ignition power to the relay and the relay to the pump. Tap into the plug at the hat and bypass the ford system, it has been wking on the 04 till today. the rail ??? well u can find an old set with the schrader valve cut it at the base and have the same size hole drilled in the 5.0 rail and get a fab shop to braze it on and tap ur return line in there..
