I have a 2011 5.0 with a magnuson on it. Its the 2300kit. I was wondering how much people are paying for dyno tunes. I have throttle tip in issues i really cant stand and was hoping to get J Lund to write a new tune for it. I know it can be different from shop to shop but what is everyone paying.

Dude, this doesn't go in the Tech section. Mustang Chit-Chat would be a much better choice.

If you go with Jon Lund, an email tune will run you $200. I highly recommend him. I recently checked him out thoroughly at the recommendation of S197 GT, Nick, and discovered the man is a phenom when it comes to tuning Mustangs. If you go to a local shop, make DAMNED SURE they know what they're doing when it comes to the 5.0L Coyote engine. Not many local shops have the experience needed to tune this engine. Stick with a big name establishment that can actually stand behind their work if they fuck your engine up.

But a dyno tune will usually take two to three hours and run you around $300-$500.

Lund's email supercharger tunes are $350.00 not $200.00. Everyone says he truly knows his stuff and I've never read where someone has complained about his customer service or his tunes.

Cost depends on the shop. Always remember you get what you pay for, though...

Jon is highly recommended. I am fortunate and get to work with him on some truly fun projects, and get to pick his brain from time to time. Though I would make sure you dont mention your philosophy on helicopters to him Frank. lol

I already did! LOL! He knows the deal though. This is a running joke among the Army helicopter community.

Have you checked with Mike@Powerhouse yet?

Mike is a good 6 hours from me. Other wise i would let him do it. The drivability of the 4.0/ m122 was excellent. You never knew it was modified till you hit boost. When Im at work j. Lund is right down the road

:beer::beer:

You cant go wrong with a Lund tune. Jon is a friend of mine and stand up guy.

Of course I would like to advertise my services to you but IMHO that would be unprofessional since you have already mentioned that you are tuned by one of the best in the business.

To answer your original question dyno tunes are usually 250-500 depending on the mods/combination.

To clarify something the original tune was written by Mark Blaha. It has some minor drivability issues and i wanted John to write a new tune. I had mentioned some concerns over the drivability to Mark and he had said he had written the tune for the best drivability. Not knocking Mark in any way i just think it can be better and since this car was set for the Ca emitions testing there must be a lot left on the table. Although remote tuning is a solution i would like the car on the rollers. But in a word John Lund did not write the initial tune. But he will soon.
