Thanks a lot! All should be done sometime this year. Which isn't saying much considering its January.

Coly,

Hey buddy I have been messing with my Bullitt since back in 2008.
It's just now getting to where I want it.

So this very well might be your year to get things rolling. :hi:
Heck if we did it all instantly we would not have anything to look forward to.

Exactly. I've been buying parts for literally over a year and a half and still like some big things. I just dropped 2100 bucks on a computer turbo, and next big thing is the trans. I think I'll just wait on that because it's so hard to make a big decision right now. Hell I may not even want an auto in a couple months.

Pretty much like Terry says, run it 1,2,3,4 with O.D. and T.C. off it's not a bad little trans for the average Street/Track. If you street drive it and like punching the pedal the trans will punch you back. :spank2:

I do not drive my car daily but when I drive it I beat her good. But I never floor it and let it downshift. I also turn overdrive and traction control off at the track and have never let it shift into overdrive at WOT. I respect the fact that it can brake and take the steps I need to make it last. Like said before people brake them naturally aspirated. My trans guy checked my fluid for me and could not believe how clean it looks and is also surprised my trans is 100%. The tuner plays a role in tranny life. My trans is stock and even chirps fourth gear at WOT on street tires.

The 5R55 stock I can't speak of as I have never had one.

The TCI Super Street Fighter built off the 5R55 I can.
I have had it in mine since late 2011.
And it has a lot of miles on it.
I'm guessing but probably like 20K or so on the TCI.
As I said above it has been drag raced many-many times since 2011.
I have never had even one thing bad happen to it.

But .............

If you have IMO 500 RWT and 500 WHP.
It will not take constantly slamming the throttle to the floor while it is in O/D.
And it's not going to take it even if you are in 4th gear and slam it to the floor.
It just does not hold up doing multiple gear downshifts.
It will not hold up to constant drag racing either.
Not with cars running 500 Plus DYNO Numbers.

But if one respects the tranny and drives with it accordingly it does OK.
It simply comes down to a complete understanding of the limitations of the 5R55 either stock or the TCI SSF built unit.
That also includes the Level 10 5R55.
