750 for stripe install ..????

ok so i got my price out sheet from my builders ... and everything is looking great. BUT, they out source for the stripe install, the guy they wanna use is asking 750 bucks for the super snake stripe kit installed ... mind you i have the kit already. Seems INSAINLY high to me since you can get them painted on for that much ! What are your guys thoughts. I know its not the builders I trust them 100% and there judgement but 750 for a stripe install my install for my cams are less than that !

that's redic..take a road trip to nj, and I will do it for a 100...or try doing them yourself, it really is easy, only hard parts are the bumpers...

Im in IRAQ thats the problem. the car is being built from over here ! But yeh there is NO WAY in holy hell im paying 750 bucks for a stripe install since i have the stripes already ! And its the Baltimore Street mods kit !

that's B/S, i paid 250 for a guy to remove factory douple stripes and install super snake stripes.

Whichever stripes you get, make sure they have at least a 5 year warranty. Mine looked like crap after 1 year. I really wished I had them replaced. Taking them off is probably just as hard as putting them on.

Then you should be good. That is the main thing. Who cares how cheap stripes are if you have to replace them every year because they don't hold up. I'd rather pay 3x the amount if they will last 5x as long.

got mine done at a local vinyl sign shop. i ordered the exact color i wanted in the best quality vinyl they could get. never had an issue with fading or peeling. only place that had problems was where the vinyl went under the factory hood scoop. the movement would make it wrinkle up at the corners of the scoop

WHAT??? That is garbage dude just go to your local dealership and ask them how much they would do it for and then base your price from there because when I had stripes the stripes installed were $300.

I'd be leary of a price THAT low. Does that include clearcoating the whole car or just painting the stripes on and calling it a day ?

It's gonna be flat black and satin cleared twice. But you need to understand something too. I live in a very small town, less than 25k people, and these guys really need the work. It's the same place that re-painted my Trailblazer after the F4 tornado we had that stripped most of the paint off one side of the thing. They do the best work for 60 miles around and I have every confidence they aren't cutting corners.

I totally agree. I never understood why anyone would put vinyl stripes on a $30,000 car. To me it just looks like shit. If you feel you have to have stripes then get them painted on the right way.

I'll disagree with that to a point. If you aren't sure you'll like them a year down the road, you can keep the option of removing them. But if you're in love with it, I would personally pull the vinyl off at the first signs of degradation and have them painted on.
