well i finialy got to see how much my car had improved from when i started and this weekend i was able to.

when i first did this autox track i ran a 1min 3 seconds.9156 this was basically when i had a tune cai and 255 street tires. this was September of 2009

now you can see what all my mods are and i was using my new stickey tires but they are a harder road raceing compound so i is takes 2 runs to get them heated up well. well yesterday i ran a 55.3xx(clean) but i ran a 55.009 on my last run and hit a solum cone. i think that i can easily get another second or more off of my time because on my fast run i missed a shift and i almost lost it on a shakaine and lost a ton of time.

sorry for the rant but i was happy about dropping 8 seconds in 6 months

Nice man! it feels good to make improvements.

I just had an AutoX this weekend, first one of the season, i was rusty for sure but as long as your seeing your times getting better throught the day, your doing things right. I run on street tires and dont pay too much mind toire pressure, i try and make adjustment in driving technique, i always have a plan before the run, unfortunately it all goes out the window once i hear "GO!

My biggest problem that day was that i am turning while braking, tends to make our cars plow fwd, its something i usually dont do but since i havnt raced in months my bad habits are rearing their ugly heads.

yeah my bad habits seem to come out on saturday and then on sunday when we do timing they go away

thanks all. my region will be doing this track for 2 more months and then also we are haveing an autox school on this track so i think by the end of all that i will be dropping alot more time on this track

I was also a little surprised when he told me they keep the course the same for multiple events. A new course each time is part of the challenge, because you need to learn fast. Frequently, after the 4 official runs are completed, my club will do "fun runs" which are still timed but don't count. I shave a solid second off my best official time during the fun runs just from correcting mistakes or realizing I can go faster through a given section of the course.

i was at the auto-x last weekend with moses. from my first run to my last, i shaved over 7.5 seconds from just learning what the car and myself were capable of. i went from a 70.7xx to 63.001 clean. and i only hit 2 cones in nine runs

That's awesome...great improvement...my first track day is June 5, I probably will only do 3 this year...I haven't been on a track in 2 years. I had a 96 cobra that broke before every event lol

Wow! Ive never run the same coarse twice, thats gotta be fun. Usually your able to shave off a good chunk of time the first few runs but then its fighting for 0.5 - 1 seconds the last couple runs.

o you still fight for that when ever you do a track more than once. because like the last time we ran that course there was another mustang and it was running about the same as it was on sunday with little competition. but then 6 months later there are like 5 ppl on there ass with times.

there are good and bad things about doing it this way but we do not have the room to change it up much because it is an taxiway on a runway. but i am going to start going to houston or san antonio when ever the weekends dont over lap.
