That first picture of the Stearman, if you look closely, you can see the head of someone in the front seat. When I was just a little kid my father had a crop dusting business with an old Stearman modified with and P&W R985 and a constant speed prop. The front seat was filled with the big tank, that held whatever he was spraying, or dusting, at the time. Dad had a little seat he made for me and he would strap me on top of that tank, my mother would do the flagging in the fields, looking for hidden posts and such and off we would go. I'll never forget those rides, it was unbelievably fun. The modern theme park rides don't hold a candle to riding the front seat during crop dusting, the way my dad flew. We did that until I started school and then I could only do it on weekends. If parents did that these day they would probably be arrested for child endangerment.
