Anyone shipped a hood before?

Someone on the site is interested in the hood I have for sale. Has anyone shipped one before? Box, bubble wrap, ups, freight????? What's the best way of doing it?

I just had one shipped to me via fedex. It was in a huge hood box and had some foamy shit around it, I think it cost like 200 via fedex freight..

Whatever you use, pack it REALLY well. When I bought my Saleen hood it came in a big box but was beat to death. I'm going to suggest a minimum of 2" of foam (each side) if you want it to arrive unscathed.

hey mfergel, I was searching google before here and I guess you took the same approach. Has anyone ever used greyhound I saw someone used that on a Honda forum. If not I'm good with Fedex.

Hmm. I have heard of others shipping via greyhound. I'm guessing they put things in the bins below the bus. Sent you a PM.

Go to a lowes or home depot and ask for a shower/bath box. That's what I shipped my 4" cowl hood in to Georgia. For the hinges bolt it to pieces of wood for each hinge. The latch do the same thing.

i had a corner snap off my spare stock hood just from being in the garage standing up, with about 5 layers of thick cardboard taped around them too.

i had 2 hoods break in shipping so i gave up on the aftermarket hood idea.
