I searched and found a couple old threads about them, but not much. Thinking about trying them on my 2011 GT A6. I currently have some old 255/50-16 M/Ts but I just got some 15x8 Racestars. Best 60' last year was 1.59, only the 2nd time out with my 5C converter. Car just has a couple bolt ons and a Boss manifold. Still using 3.15 gears.

I originally was going to do 275/60s on the 15x8s and going to a 3.31 gear to make up the gear difference so I can still cross at the top of 3rd (~118-119 traps), but I have seen the 275s on the 8" wheels and they stick out a little farther than I like. I was thinking the 255/60s might fit better and work 99% as well, and I could try them with the 3.15s and maybe go to 3.31s.

I googled and some have gone pretty quick on them (mid 9s, with 1.32 60' times) but that's a completely different setup from mine.

Anyone using them?

The MT ET Street radials in 275/50 or 275/60-15 are designed to fit on an 8" rim. If you're going with a 28" tall tire instead of a 26" then why not go with the new MT 275 pro radials? They are the next best thing to slicks and are currently the hottest thing on the market. Every single person I've talked to who has tried them has said they are the best tire they have ever used. Mine should be here by the end of the week.

I know that the 275s fit on an 8" wheel, but what I don't care for is how they look with that width and the Racestar offset on an S197 car. They look good on the 10" wheels but I didn't feel like doing the sway bar relocation.

I'm not really interested in the Pros as I would like to drive on them occasionally on the street and obviously the Pros would be terrible to get caught in the rain with. Also I have heard that the Pros run larger than the regular ET Street radials and they are really too big for an 8" wheel.

I have the 275 Pros on 15x10 SVE Drag wheel. However. The 275 Pros fit fine on an 8" wheel as well. The Pros are a serious tire and the newer version of the Streets. The Pros can be used on the street. Neither are good in the rain.
