Well, I attended my first autocross event at the Goodguys car show in Costa Mesa, CA a few weeks ago. It wasn't a very technical course by any means but it was fun as hell and now I'm hooked.

My only suspension mods are Steeda springs and I was running NT555 tires (time for some dampers, sways, and stickier tires).

My best time was a 31.07. Average was around 33 and the fastest cars were running high 29s.

Here are a few pictures (pardon the fence):

I so want to do that some time, looks like a blast, i know of a few people that say they learned more about how their car handles doing this at low speeds, then they did at a high speed HPDE at a track, and normally its cheaper too.

We have quite a few low speed events in my area and you can see why, they are a riot. Your car looks really cool in the pic with your front tire all tucked in tight during breaking. We have a VW Rabbit that always lifts the back tires on sharp corners looks cool and man can that car rip.

Thanks, guys. Just in that one event I learned a ton about how my car reacts to low speed turns. My times were consistently lower each lap.

gbrown- That's exactly what I was worried about. This is going to become an expensive hobby really fast haha.

I really want to try this but I'm concerned that the cone will break the fascia when I hit and I will hit it.
