There was no mis-communication. Do you not see the three Members post about how they saw the PMs and are saying it's clear as day?

I'm not out any money, but I didn't get what I ordered, what I thought I was paying for.

Like I said, if you want to remove my post, go remove everyone else's that was also resolved by them getting their money back or receiving what they paid for...

he made you whole.

I know my opinion doesn't mean shit, but I have one just the same.
I don't see that Ryan was made whole.
He goes elsewhere and pays a higher price = he's out more money.

I don't have a horse in the race, so whatever...but it's BS the price won't be honored when Ryan has it in black & white. (So Ryan says)

.

Come on, there was obviously a mis-communication. That doesn't mean that you didn't state it clearly. It just means that he misread it or misunderstood it.

fuck it - I stated my view, I'll leave it for others to read it and come to their own conclusions.

I've spent enough time on this.

No, there wasn't. How can "Kit Finish: Polished" be mis-coummunicated and "Kit Finish: Satin"? I don't see how someone can read it wrong.

This is exactly why I am taking a refund, because Terry has such a huge following no one is going to believe anything I say, even when I have proof and other very trust worthy Members can verify what I say to be true.

I am not a liar, or a thief.

Ryan - I believe you, however that doesn't negate the fact that Terry may have glossed over that line.

I deal with dozens of emails a day on a slow day, sometime more than 100, sometimes you get a message and you "skim" or "gloss" over it and miss something.

Let me say this, if you truly believe Terry tried to fuck you over, then by all means every thing should stay, however if you do not think that.... maybe you should rethink your view.

that's the last I'll comment.

Yeah I must say, I'm in sales and if someone ordered a specific item from me and paid they would get it. Especially if it was just a few hundred off in their favor. that would be my bad and I would have to deal with it internally. If I said sorry here is your money back go elsewhere, or cough up more cash to get what you wanted, that would not reflect well on me or my company. Good you got your money back, sucks you don't have what you bought.

Dave, ive seen the pm's. There was no miscommunication. Terry clearly stated what Ryan was purchasing and for what price. Its pretty black and white. Yall are treating Ryan like he did something wrong here and he didnt. He didnt jump the gun, he tried using this thread as a tool to come to a mutual agreement with Terry. Whether it worked or not who knows. He got a refund and not he has to go elsewhere to get the kit that he was supposed to be shipped in the first place.

I don't think Ryan did anything wrong, nor am I treating him that way.

terry didn't write out the quote - Ryan did - look at the PMs if you have them.

to clarify

Terry put a price on the information that Ryan wrote out.

This is one of those things. I don't think it's going to hurt Terry's rep any unless it starts to happen to more people.

IMO the golden rule applies here. For both parties.

Curious to see the PM's.

If our company quotes incorrectly, we honor it. It's called Customer Service and not only making it right on that instance, but, it will most likely keep that customer for anything in the future he/she may need. It's earning more business and also getting a new opportunity.

Not going to pass Judgement on Terry, but, if you quote something a specific way and the customer has cash in hand, be prepared to honor it or risk forever losing that Customer and any business he/she may have brought. You win some, you lose some. Sounds to me that Terry didn't want to lose some, but, that is not for me to say or judge.

This all goes back to what I said earlier.
As a biz, small or not...something as clear cut as this, you choke up the loss and move on.
Make it up down the road in other ways and learn your lesson not to "SKIM" over emails/PM's with that kind of money on the line.

Ryan, sorry to see you get stroked.

As a business owner, I agree with most people here that if I make a mistake on a quote, I would likely eat the loss. That's just good business. The other acceptable alternative is to admit that you made a mistake, and give the customer their money back. Clearly that's the option Terry chose. I don't think it makes him a bad seller because he wasn't trying to scam somebody and then made it right after everybody hounded him or Rasmus tracked him down. This is clearly a mistake. While he didn't select the option I personally would have or that Ryan would have liked, at least he quickly owned up to it and refunded the money.

A mistake is much different than what the purpose of this thread is.

When did I ever say Terry owned up to it?

In fact, he didn't clear admit he made a mistake. Just a lot of well, there could have been miscommunication on either end. No sir, there wasn't.

Also, does it not raise a flag when Terry isn't even willing to look at the PMs? He doesn't have them saved of course, he gets too many PMs a month to save them, but when I asked him for a email address to send them to so he could see our conversation, I got the "I can't afford to sell kits that low etc." run around.
