I'm Cam - Mr. Indecisive
Terry wrote the quote for the amount after Ryan wrote what he wanted. If he got just the Satin finish wrong... that's fine, easily overlooked, but he got the BAP wrong too. 50% of Ryan's order was incorrect. Like others mentioned, in sales, once money exchanges hands and there is basically a receipt of what "goods" were purchased, then it needs to be guaranteed.
I don't sell a car accidentally for $2K less and after they take delivery, I call them up and say, "Hey, I need 2K more for what you just bought." Mistakes are made, but it only our fault if that happens. Yes there are more contractual complications compared to a simple point of sale purchase like this, but still the same principal.
Not necessarily apples to apples but still the guarantee of a purchase is not a guarantee if what arrived on my doorstep is not what I explicitly asked for.
Edit: Ryan how did you pay for this? PayPal? When I PayPal for goods or services. I write out the items I purchased in the memo section so the seller sees exactly what I am expecting/agreed upon. Side note: this has helped me in the various times someone tried to screw me over.
