What size fuse do you have at the battery? That looks like an AGU fuse holder, so I would think the absolute largest fuse you could get would be 60 amp? Also, the 4 gauge is a little light to be connecting to the front. You can draw some serious current when starting the car, so I would suggest stepping up to a 2 gauge, or 0 gauge if you are feeling froggy, and putting a circuit breaker in instead of a fuse.

Times have changed lol 150amp mini fuse, with a pro series 4 gauge cable. Pro series cable allows me to keep it 4ga without any prob with current while starting. I used this stuff in my old car for 5 years with no problems, if something does happen i will change it out.

Did this with my 06 to mount my fuel cell for nitrous, pretty easy to undo when I put the car back to stock. Approached it the same way (Ground to chassis in rear and front) and it worked fine with I never had any charging issues, even with a fan/bottle heater running with udp's.

I kept the kit and extras to do the same thing to my 2012 when everything goes on it. I'm going to have to measure to see if the Steeda kit box will fit in the spare tire area as well. Would be nice to have the trunk room. I just need to get motivated.

Very nice.Can you tell a difference in handling and traction?

I dont wanna sounds like a guy who thinks once he does a mods its a huge improvement lol but i took my friend for a ride who also has a mustang and it did hook up better from 1st gear and not as much tire spin in 2nd.

You will always get better traction with a friend in the car. In hindsight my relocation did make a difference in traction and cornering however when I took my car in to get it corner balanced, it would have been preferable if my battery had been mounted at the rear passenger corner of the trunk rather than on top of the wheel well.

Yea i took the location in condsideration when mounting it in the lower wheel well. But since its a daily and i use the trunk i didnt want it mounted on the side taking up room.

Maybe this is an odd question but you didn't by any chance do a before and after weight bias did you?

Seriously rough back of the napkin math......guessing 3700lb car with a 50lb battery..........~1-1.5% change.

Just battery weight and some vague assumptions.

Getting into calculating moment of inertia and such is a bit beyond my math skills.

Trust me, I'm no math wiz either. But looking at it roughly, let's set the datum at the current "center of gravity" to make it easy to see. You will remove the negative moment (fwd weight) which is just aft of the front wheels. You have now just shifted the center of gravity aft a little. Now put the battery just aft of the rear wheels. That distance is greater than it was when up front so the moment increases. Now that increased moment (increased aft weight) is over and past the drive wheels. You have now just shifted the center of gravity aft a little more. It can only help with traction and the balance of the car. I too have kicked around the idea of battery relocation. You guys don't help me when I'm trying to save for retirement.

Did a search & came up with this thread.

Can you post better pics of the under hood connections of your relocation & also can I purchase the rest of what's needed to complete this from a normal automotive store ( NAPA, auto zone, etc....) , or do I have to order it online?

I have the steeda relocation kit & thought it came with all necessary hardware to comlete the relocation, but apparently it does not.

Thanks in advance to the O.P. or whomever can guide me in the right direction.

Im good friends with Jim. I purchased everything through amazon. I would recommend running two 4 gauge grounds or a 0 gauge ground and a 300 amp fuse and 2 or 0 gauge wire on the positive cable, this is if you have an auto like me. Jim's car is just fine with the way his is setup due to him having less electronic parts than me. I hope this helps.
