Your good. Just from symptom/ explanation without pics

Yeah, I can see it from here. Looks bad to me.

Well Hoss, need to check them sqwerl glasses. It's the dang harmonic balancer gone kaput. Took the belt off after it split apart one rib cord going out to store. pulled back in drive way and dang thing is wobbling back in forth on the crank. All the rubber bushing material appears ro have deteriorated away.

Get a call into Steeda in the am.

That was going to be my next suggestion. I spun my harmonic balancer at the track, only time I ever needed to get towed home.

Bad news... they have been on back order for a month.

I got into a bind and ended up using the Steeda installer bolt. It left the crank pulley out some which allow the belt to ride forward on the tensioner and made it squeel like mad. Pulled the bolt, replaced with a Ford OE bolt and the problem gone.

You called it, a head banger screw up but in my defense, I bought it from a guy and not Steeda. This experience has made me unsure about buying performance parts from a private person. Live and learn.

Mine spun too. Evidently, it has been like that for awhile. The wife, kids and I could smell a rubberish type of smell occasionally and I was wondering what it could be, weird.

Mark it down as a leasons learned.

I hear you on the second hand purchase. Don't forget, You always have this foumn and google you can search for info and directions as well as calling the own vendor for help.

You didnt have a Steeda UDP did you?

Im still waiting on my replacement. It came in last friday at the steeda location in geogia. They were backup due to a huge backlog and wasnt sent out untill today. Customer service gave instruction to overnight it Monday since it is my DD car for now and down hard for transportation. Manufacturing question the failure which I am understanding and I provided pics. the process for a RMA needs to kick it up a bit. I mean this is a repair cycle not a mod, plus warrenty item.

Then to make matters worse, instead of overnight shipping as I was told, it was 3 day overland . Well that sucks big time. Guess Steeda mngt never had a car broken down before. The last two warranty items I have had with them i have had this delima.

Over a week and counting.

ARRGH!!!

Actually it was the stock harmonic balancer, I drove to Tampa to pick up a replacement from a ford dealer there and had it back at the track the next day.

Does the OE one have the rubber compound too?
