BMR facility tour

So my tug boat is in shipyard in Tampa and when home my trip to the drag strip resulted in shitty 60' so I need a set of Relocation Brackets. I searched around and spoke with Kelly at BMR and realized the shop is only 20 min away. He promised a deep discount if I came over.

The outside of the shop is very unassuming and I wasn't sure I was at the right place. I came in and met Kelly and we bullshited about cars and projects on my 3.7 before I got the nickel tour.

The shop is fairly spacious with miles of tubing and plate steel.

I came across the jig that is used for the S197 K members and we talked about how it is built and the standards that they are made to.

Next we came across the pallet of S197 front control arms and asked if they have gotten any stronger. I was quite impressed with the subtle evolution that they had made and was amazed at the attention to detail and the weld quality.

The stack of parts waiting to hit their state of the art powder coating booth was astounding. To say I was impressed with their facility and work is a huge understatement. If you are on the fence about buying a BMR product I highly recommend you take the plunge. Unpainted the work is gorgeous.

After picking up the brackets we spoke at length on the upcoming Watts link. I have a lot of experience with a Saleen and a Fay II. No one will be dissapointment with what they have to offer, price point, adjustability, and quality will make this an absolute must have for everyone.

Did Kelly take you to lunch at All American Burger? It's a little greasy spoon convenience store type place that sells awesome burgers.

Lol. No I went in the afternoon, was sort of pressed for time as I had to borrow a rental car for the ride over. It was great to really pick his brain on the watts link as to the how and why on certain pick up points and thier approach. We also talked about the axle mounts and arm ends. It was a lot of fun for someone who tinkers with everything and always asks why. Between the two versions they really will have something for everyone. It's gonna be tough to decide on which version.

Wow, thanks popeye!

I don't think people realize how many of the A-Arms we build and ship. ;)

Thats one place id love to tour and see how our stuff is built. BTW Kelly does BMR have any interest in designing suspension mods for a challenger? :)

We are somewhat unique in what we do.

If anyone is ever in the Tampa area, please don't hesitate to call me and come visit.

As for "how it is built" ---- We are working out a plan to attach a GoPro camera to tubing as soon as it is made....then the GoPro follow that piece of tube all the way to our loading dock, into stock, then fabbed and the end result. Now, to figure out how the GoPro can handle 20+ minutes in our powdercoat oven.....hahaha

I may take you up on that. I have a "reliability engineering" week long training course in St Peterberg in December. Never been to Florida. Will be there a whole week with nothing to do so this could be fun.

All my suspension is BMR right now. In fact just picked up a drive shaft safety loop too.

Still too lazy to install most of it though. UCA/Bracket/loop/sway bar relocates all sitting on shelf next to car, but they look really good in those boxes.

Just received my sway bar links today and they look great. I'm planning on installing them on Saturday.

And I test drove an ecoboost 2015 yesterday :)
