Chad,
First off I want to thank you for all the compliments very nice of you to say. But my part in this whole thing is very small, your the reason you will be sporting "SST 1" next year, dont forget it. I think Kelly (BMR) will agree, the foundation is good to have but for you to "shift" your way to the championship is your doing alone. That in itself is remarkable considering I remember someone telling you, "you will never win this class in a stick car". Hmmm,, hope he isn't choking on those feathers right about now. LOL. Then when you look at the entire year and you only missing less than a handful of gears for the amount of passes you made,,, awesome. Not to mention your ability to cut the tree down with .030 or better consistently and even .006 or better when it really matters.... Again how awesome is that and very hard to beat! Mix that in with you knowing what the car will do in the weather,, perfect combination.
Now lets look at your attitude. I don't think anyone doesn't like you, how can they not! Your wiliness to help others is model for the SST class. Whether its helping to rebuild a rearend in the pits so the guy can get back on the track (Chicago). Or turning around driving back to take the alternator off "your car" and install it on a SST competitors car (Larry Firestone) so he could make it home with his car.. How can the story be any better??? Well maybe if you would run a new personal best,,, wait you did that on the brakes!
It has been fun watching and being involved in it all and thanks for letting me. What a ride the past year has been but this is all you. Proud to have raced with you and call you my friend.
Awesome job again Chad, you da man!
Dave
