The GT 500 spoiler should have come with 4 studs. Nonetheless the size of the studs are 6mm x 1.0

Let me offer some suggestions:
  • Trunk lid must be cool to the touch
  • Loosen but do not remove the 4 nuts holding the original spoiler in place
  • Take about a short length of fishing line (I prefer Power Pro stranded or braided - 20 lb. test available @ Walmart) and carefully use the line to saw through the existing 3M adhesive. You have to do this from all 4 sides as the fishing line will stop when it reaches the mounting studs.
  • Now remove the nuts and spoiler
  • Carefully use a heat gun to soften the remaining 3M adhesive
  • Follow up with VM&P Naptha (available @ Home Depot) to remove any remaining glue
Does your new spoiler have any adhesive on the mounting surfaces to prevent water leakage into the truck compartment?
