Brakes Squeaking, driving me ape-poop!

So, about a year ago, I replaced my rear end for that of a rear end of a Bullitt. Factory installed 3.73 gears, yada yada yada...

When I put it on, I developed a brake squeak on the passenger side. I have since tried everything, sort of replacing the pads and rotor. I have greased everthing where metal touches metal. I have cleaned every surface with brake cleaner. I have filed the ends of the brake pads so there is a bevel on either end. I have taken all the burrs and inperfections off of the rotor. This remedies the problem for about a month or so, then it just comes back.

Any suggestions?

Only suggestion is to turn the radio up louder. Mine does the same thing... and on the same side.

No I haven't. Do you have personal experience with it? Does it work?

Did you replace the entire unit with the full Bullitt assembly, including the Bullitt brake hardware? If so, simply try swapping in the pads from your stock set-up and see if the squealing comes back.

Was the Bullitt assembly used? If so, maybe the caliper guide pins are hanging up and need to be cleaned and re-lubed.

factory pads = shit . been there, done that. even machined rotors. replaced pads. with hawks street pads. 15k miles now

I always put "De-Squeak" on the backing plates of the pads. Two sets on mine and numerous other family/friends cars from Lexus to Civic to Sonata to Silverado to F150 to...well, you get the picture, all with no squeak. Try it out!

Yep, works great.

Pull the guide pins and. Lean thourouhly.
Lubricate the guide pins with Sil Glyde grease.

Remove the pads and the anti squeak plates.
Smear CRC Disk Brake Quiet on both sides of the anti squeak plates and reassemble.
