NHRA has inspected the track surface at the Atlanta Dragway and deemed it "unfit for competition". So now they have to tear the damn thing up and redo the whole f'ning thing. FFW Atlanta has been moved to June 12-15 and will run as originally scheduled.

Goddamned NHRA repaved that son of a bitch over the winter and screwed it up. They were pitching a hissy fit last weekend at Houston about the "bump" at mid-track and chewed the owner's asses out for over two hours after the event. How do I know? Our suite is right next door to the announcer's deck. Yes, we heard them. Now they have a problem with their own track since they were such cheapasses during the repaving process and we, the racers, get fucked over. Track management at Atlanta had stated that they wanted a certain contractor to do the work and NHRA picked another based on price. Keep in mind that this was during the period in which HD Partners was going to purchase the NHRA Pro Series and the pencil-pushing tightwads in California didn't want to upset the apple cart with "exuberant spending". Yeah....quoted from someone who works at Atlanta Dragway.
So...FFW gets pushed back into June. Right the fuck on top of NMRA Milan. Which happens to be the first of four races for the NMRA Ultra Stang championship. Anyone wanting to win in both series' (that would be me) now has to seriously jump on the remaining three races at the NMRA if they want to win that championship.
