Heres how I filled mine with out using the shitty ass hand pump. The fill plug if I remember correctly is 5-6" above the drain plug on the passenger side of the tranny.

Supplies needed:
- 3' of 1/2" hose (CLEAN)
- 4 Qts of tranny fluid (I prefer Royal Purple. It stopped my cold start grinds completely)
- Small funnel
- 3/8" drive ratchet
- Short 3/8" extension
- A couple shop rags handy in case of fluid spills

1) Remove center console and shift knob.
2) Lift up part of the shifter boot enough to slip the hose through.
3) Route the hose down from the shifter base to the tranny where the fill hole is.
4) Remove the tranny drain plug from underneath the car.
5) Hop in your drivers seat and add (3) 1qt bottles and about a 1/5 of the remaining last bottle(make sure you don't over fill).
6) The fluid level should be about a 1/2" below the fill hole.
7) Re-install the fill plug.
8) Clean up any fluid on the tranny that may have ran from draining and pack everything away
9) Your done

This method took me about 15 minutes from start to finish with using a lift. If you don't have a lift, it is still possible to do, just make sure you use the proper safety measures (Jacks, stands or ramps). Also if you dont have a funnel to use on the one end of the hose, you can always just poke a hole in the bottom of the bottle so the fluid comes out quicker.

Enjoy! Nick

If 3 quarts was too much then its possible that you didtnt drain 100% of the old fluid. Nick

I filled mine from the top. Remove the bezel around the shifter and snake a length of tubing down and into the fill hole on the tranny. Use a funnel on the top and pour slowly.

sorry to be off topic but when do you usually change the trans fluid? Got any pics of the fill and drain holes?

Does royal purple make a difference with shifting?

If so this will be going in on my next oil change (28,000)

When's a good time to change the rear fluid and what kind should I use?
