What do I need to cover up on the Shelby?
Someone told me at the dealership I did not have to cover anything up.

It is bone stock.

Depending on how you clean it than no you won't need to cover anything up. Like with anything, the proof is in the details. If you throw a ton of water at it it's going to get in your fuse box, alternator, COPs, etc etc. If you are careful and use minimal water, than dry it immediately you'll have no problems.

I actually just recently cleaned my engine bay and I didn't even cover ANYTHING up and I've got an open element air filter. This is how little water I use and how I use it very carefully. Here's some pictures...

I started with a light rinse, followed with Meguiars Super Degreaser, agitated with a brush, than rinsed. Followed by drying with a backpack leaf blower. Meguiars #205 by hand on all of the paint but the hood, followed by Blackfire Sealant. Meguiars Hyperdressing 4:1 on plastics, hoses, etc via an applicator. I also remove my belt when cleaning the engine. The Roush TVS uses a propertiery belt that is only available through them and isn't cheap. So I don't want the risk of any of the APCs, degreasers, etc making the belt any less effective, etc. Beyond that the belts usually take forever to dry and only get the motor compartment dirty when you do drive it and it's slightly wet. I'm happy with the results.
