I just has the distinct displeasure of replacing one of these things. Luckily it was the easiest one to get to, but still a miserable job. I'n now click free. My question is, do I need to do the reset procedure if everything is working as it should? I cycled through all the modes and its working correctly.

Here's my write up on the procedure:

I did need to perform the reset procedure after replacing two of mine but it's very simple to do.

Follow this write up. A good way to look at it also, is as much as you don't want to assume always think any electrical component that is replaced the system should be reset.
