I picked up a pair of CMCV plates off an 2006 exploder today.
I want to modify them for a test n tune day
The Yard charge me $40 for the pair.
Seems a bit much to me.
Anybody have prices on what they would have to pay in their areas?
The Upull yards seem to be getting a bit pricey for parts that would otherwise be crushed..

and if your just using them as is ,, well then you will be in it $40

You both are right,
I just get aggravated at the prices these places charge for used parts.
The don't pay squat for the cars they buy then want 10x the price for what scrap price is.

I walk around the yards and look at all the parts and pieces that are laying on the ground. Good parts laying in the rocks that you know will get dumped or buried next quarter when they bring in new cars.

This place charged $30 for what they determined to be a lower intake plenum.
$8.00 core charge, $3.50 in tax then a $3.75 environmental Service fees.

The rest of the intake, throttle body, CMCV controller- injectors fuel rails got thrown in a bin next to check-out counter. I refused to pay for each part a la carte vs an assembly.

I may have been willing to pay $50 for a complete intake assembly but I really had no need for the Explorer parts, so they threw it to the trash.

Modified my own CMCV plates for £10 and a bit of labour, aftermarket Billets are way over priced. Running a breakers yard must be a worldwide gold mint then as I see breaker only insurance disposal cars sold at auction here for a less than £500 and there could potentially be 5-10k in parts or more on that vehicle. Because its a breaker category nobody only a licensed treatment facility can buy them at auction hence they have a monopoly on prices they pay. God id love to have an American ford breakers here, id never leave exploring it :Big Laugh:
