Coil bind question

so I’m looking into getting some cams for my car. My currents valve springs are good to .550 lift and the cams I’m looking at the exhaust has a max lift of .541 is this going to be enough clearance or will I have issues?

Should add that they are the trickflow/pac drop in springs. It says they good up to .550 lift I just wasn’t sure if they factor in bind clearance off that .550 or if I should stay well below that lift max.

I would treat the lift max as the rule. If they list .550 you are fine.

Ok, I was leaning in hat direction but wanted to be sure. I’d hate to have a valvetrain failure.

So I did a little mock up in a vice and put the spring at installed and compressed it to the max lift of the cam and measured my clearance with a feeler gauge and am getting .020 at the minimum. Is that too tight or is that going to be ok?

I can get these cams for a steal that’s why I’m trying to see if they’ll work, otherwise I’ll just go custom grind.

I would talk to the spring manufacture to see what they recommend. They know there product.
