Had about a 45% fuel load.

w/o spare/jack
1001 - 1002
754 - 757
3513 lbs
57/43

With the spare/jack in place

996 - 996
775 - 780
3547 pounds
56/44

Edit: Fixed numbers, I was tired

Hmm, strange. I would have thought that with the spare and jack in the place, the front/rear weight distribution would be more equal.

Edit: Wait, I think the numbers are just backwards, lol.

Somethings wrong with the numbers you posted. You posted higher rear weight without jack and spare but a lower total?:wtf1:

That's not bad!

I was wondering how much the Whipple added. Mine weighed in just under 3400lbs w/o the spare and around 1/2 tank of fuel. I had a decent amount of mods at the time and sense I last had a chance to weigh her I've added / subtracted some stuff.

Added: the Steeda Rad support, MGW shifter, Whipple HO, another 5 sheets of Dynamat Ext, Gauges & Pillar pods, GT500 Wheels / tires

Removed: Bullitt STB & C&L Street CAI.

I need to find a scale now. LOL

They don't mean shit without the driver in the seat.

Yep..only real useful information you got was your total weight. The shops I've gone to won't even align my car without my weight in the seat (well I suppose they would if I asked..). But without coilovers or some way to adjust your suspension it doesn't really matter; you've got what you've got.

You can move your battery from passenger side front to passenger side back. Makes a small difference.

I should have had someone read the scales when I was sitting in the car. I still have the scales in my garage so I can do that tonight.

Yes I can't do much about it, it was just for information.

I don't know how envolved your getting but taking /setting corner weights with your sway bars connected is about a waist of time.also if your suspension is not adjustable it's also a waist. what are you trying to accomplish ?

you need to bounce the front and rear of the car on the scales a couple times before starting.

load the car take the weight then bounce it a few times and look at your numbers again

Listen guys, a friend who lives a couple blocks away had the scales and lent them to me and for shits and giggles, I decided to weigh the car. It's just for information.

I'm not trying to accomplish anything specific or adjust the weight. It probably wasn't perfectly scientific (although the front/rear distributions make perfect sense), I just thought it might be interesting.

I agree. The corner weights should also be laser checked for perfect heights on all four corners (they aren't expensive).

BTW, Steve, what is the minimum Nasa weight now for a S197?

I just thought it might be interesting.
It is interesting. I would have guessed a higher weight with the extra weight on the front.

2700 With driver. Just power to weight.
I knew AI was power to weight, but I had no idea that a 2700# car w/driver was allowed. I know you've been racing Nasa very successfully since the early days.

Can a guy really get a S197 down to 2500#'s before the driver and all of his safety equipment is in the car? That weight is after the race (with minimum fuel)?

Sounds about right. Mine scaled at 3580 in full street trim with 160 pounds of me in the left seat and about a half tank, I had 53/47 distribution. Base GT, no options.
Thanks. For some reason, I thought these cars were heavier. Your car is 3420#''s without you in it. You could get well below 3400# by just removing the jack, spare, and passenger seat?

correct , post race weight.

it could be done I'm sure, but not without spending what it would cost to probably buy a used rolex gt car for.

I've taken my car down to nothing for the most part. I got it down to low 2700 without driver. the problem was balance. I had to put weight back in the car to balance it. being the lighest car is not exactly the ticket in ai. you just get beat down on the long straight aways as the mustang is a aerodinamic brick. if the races where longer then 40 min then tires could play a huge role but they just don't give up in a 35-40 min race.

3100 is a good weight with driver in a s197 car in ai in my opinion .
