Mustang's almost road ready - should be all buttoned up this week. Been traveling a lot recently so it's held up my progress. Here's a couple of pictures.

After breaking the stock input shaft - stuck on the side of the highway:

Front mount install:

New intake routing - bad picture - it looks pretty cool in person:

Getting ready to remove the trans:

Drivetrain goodies...PI 3200 RPM multi disk stall converter, TCI hardened input shaft, TCI billet 3 and 4 servos:

New Steeda one piece driveshaft:

New TCI trans with goodies installed, going back in the car - almost too pretty to install:

Transmission is on, driveshaft is on, FMIC install is finished, just need to re-hang the exhaust, route some new trans cooler lines, fill up the trans, and start tuning.

The input shaft just randomly snapped on the highway?

Something like that....

Heading home from the track after Tuesday night test and tune - my buddy asks why I always put it in gear before romping on it from a roll on the street, instead of letting it downshift. I explain that the trans takes FOREVER to downshift, and to demonstrate, stomp on it in drive. Well, this time it downshifted hard and fast - and boom, bang, clang, the input shaft snapped.

It actually didn't blow right on the downshift, surprisingly. It downshifted from 5-2, ran out 2, upshifted into 3rd, ran out 3rd, then blew on the 3-4 upshift.

The trans had been acting funny at the track, too, to be honest with you. I suspect I may have twisted the splines or something at the track, then weakened it further on the WOT downshift, then it finally snapped on the 3-4 upshift. Pure speculation though.

LOL - I think I said something like 'there went my bottom end' - when I realized the engine sounded fine and wasn't clanking, I gingerly hit the gas pedal and realized it was free revving. I'm so paranoid about the stock rods that I just assumed that it was an engine failure at first.

Back on the road....I know it's a terrible pic and the car is filthy. Don't care, just glad to be driving it again. :D
