how much longer until that key is turned?

I got the BAP done last night, I think it turned out clean. Hard to get good pictures inside your trunk at night lol.

I put 2 gallons of coolant in the engine and over a gallon in the blower and no leaks. HE pump seemed to circulate good.

I got my initial file last night and I have to data log the idle. Tracking number says x pipe today. So I should give it a whirl this evening.

I applaud you for taking it all on. Not many folks out there would put the time/effort into doing so. Great to see. :)

Not exactly the first start attempt I was looking for.

It won't even turn over. Kinda a squeal noise coming from the starter when I hit the key. Maybe that rod smacking it ruined it. I'm gonna pull it back off tomorrow and take it to the parts store and have it tested. Wonder if they will have one...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but more than likely they don't. It will need to be ordered from Ford. At least this was the case at the end of last year.

Hopefully it is just a seating issue. :thumb2:

You are right they don't. Best price I found so far was 220 from rock auto and a 35 core. Tousely isn't open though.

I dunno if you saw the pic where the rod smacked it but it's got quite a dent. I'm thinking it's locked up.

Going to pull it off now...

Obviously you're going to bench test it before replacing it. Best of luck, glad to see the rapid progress.

It's junk.

Is the 2011-2012 mustang listing the only one that will work? or can I ask for one off another year/motor that's the same thing?

As it turns out 3V starters appear to be identical. My buddy told me he read someone who did a coyote swap used the old starter so I had the parts store look up one for a 2010, heres what they handed me

Looked identical to me and I put it in and it fired right up. I guess we will see if its good in the long term, but it fit fine and worked fine so I'm gonna go with it.

Yeah I'm pumped lol. It idled pretty shitty at first and had me a little worried. It would stall when I went to let the clutch out. I managed to get a min or so out of it and it stalled. So I just let it sit and checked then topped off the coolant and oil and reflashed the tune just to be sure.

Fired it up again and after about another minute it really cleaned up good. Sounded great at idle, did a few free revs and data logged all of it.

OMG longtubes. omg omg omg Maybe its because its been months since I heard my car but damn does it sound good.

Oh and it smokes like a FUCKING TRAIN lol. I know theres still a decent amount of oil in the muffs. After the idle logs are reviewed I will have a tune I can cruise around on and heat cycle the motor before the dyno tune. I'm hoping it doesn't take forever to burn out. It didn't smoke at all until it started to get some heat in it so I don't think its anything with the motor.

Thanks again to everyone who helped, said nice things or offered advice!
