Ok, I am at a loss. I don't know where to get tires, or what to look for. I have always drove a Jeep with 33" or biggers tires so these 20" street tires all seem foreign to me. I want a 275/40r20. My wheels are 8.5" wide in the rear btw. Most everything I find say they are for street trucks, sport utilities, or cross overs. The tires that will be going on these wheels will be used for daily driving. If you guys could let me know what kind of brands and places to look that would be greatly appreciated!:thumb:

Whats the diff between a nt55t and the nt555?
and wouldnt a 275/30/20 on the rear be shorter? I have 20x8.5's front and rear btw.

o, ok, but wouldnt a 275/30 be shorter than the 255/35 on the front? I want something taller on the back. I already have the 255/35 nittos on the front. just need to replace the back tires

I would do a 275/35/20 then but not any taller. Also that a wide tire on a 8.5" wheel, the tire is gonna measure 10.82 wide which means it will be sucked in quite a bit.

Your going to want a shorter tire in the rear with those 20s, do you plan on lowering the car? I wouldn't go any bigger than a 35 sidewall or else you may run into some rubbing issues in the future.

I run a 275/40 in the back... no rubbing, I'm certain an 8.5" wide rim helps, though.

Below is a OLD pic of the rear to give you an idea

Thats exactly the look I was wanting fhlh. The thing I am really needing to know is what kind of tire to get. Nitto doesnt make one that size in the nt555. I don't really want to spend $350 per tire. Most say they are for sport trucks or suv's. Is that a problem?

really? ok.. I'll sell you the whole package :)

Now people say that the Toyo Proxies ST II's a truck tire, it's really not.
It's an All-Season tire designed for larger 'sport' cars and sporty SUVs (think BMW x5).
Since these tires are riding on a 3800lbs car, I would not be surprised if I get 40K out of this set. And considering I cannot rotate them, that's a good thing.
IMHO for a DD, it's a great set of 20's.

FWIW... I run 255/40/20 front, 275/40/20 rear on American Racing 20x8.5 "Shelby" Torque Thrusts.
