I went to TPS today with a buddy to get his 2010 GT500 retuned. After his car was done we had some time to kill so we did some testing on my car. I ordered the KB Mammoth filter a couple months ago but never put it on so we did some back to back pulls to see what it would gain. All the pulls were done on my street tune which is 20 psi, 16* timming, and coolant temps were the same.
1st Pull: Stock Air Filter that came with original KB Kit
20.2 psi. @ 6500 rpm
Coolant Temp. 192 degrees
16 degrees of spark
Pulled from 3500-6500 rpm
IAT was 102 degrees at 6500 rpm
650 rwhp @ 6529 rpm
550 rwtq @ 6180 rpm
2nd Pull: No Air Filter just 4" inlet tube behind front bumper
20.0 psi. @ 6500 rpm
Coolant Temp. 191 degrees
16 degrees of spark
Pulled from 3500-6500 rpm
IAT was 106 degrees at 6500 rpm
636 rwhp @ 6535 rpm
527 rwtq @ 6240 rpm
3rd Pull: Kenne Bell Mammoth Air Filter mounted behind front bumper
21.3 psi. @ 6500 rpm
Coolant Temp. 193 degrees
16 degrees of spark
Pulled from 3500-6500 rpm
IAT was 96 degrees at 6500 rpm
658 rwhp @ 6440 rpm
561 rwtq @ 6091 rpm
The stock filter showed to be a slight restriction at 20 psi. as we picked up about 1.1 psi. The big difference was on the ride home when monitoring the IAT's at cruising speed. Cruising 55 mph IAT stayed steady at 140 degrees. On way back with new filter it never got over 122 degrees while cruising at 55 mph.
