Roush God
Hi there. My girl has a 2011 V6. After driving my Roush, she said she wants her car louder. Well, I went around looking for anything I could find for her car. I ended up getting a set from MRT. Again, this is just mufflers, so it's pretty easy. But, there are a few tips that I wish I would have known. I was pressed for time and just barely got it done in time. Anyway, here is my how to. Enjoy,
Tools:
13mm Socket
Socket Wrench
6in extension for Wrench (makes it easier)
Pliers (you'll see why)
Jack and jack stands (made it so much easier)
Strong Hands
Music
Well, first I laid out what I had just to see them and whatnot.
Then, I got to work. As you can see under here, there are 3 hanger spots. Now I know why. These bitches are heavy. Looking around 30lbs a piece. Damn. Anyway, I took a few shots under here of what's going on. Go ahead and unbolt the clamp holding it to the mid-pipe. Yes, the clamp is welded to the muffler. That's where the pliers came in for me. I'll show that later.
Take the rear hanger out first. You don't have to unbolt this one. BTW, this is driver side only.
This is the front hanger. It has 3 bolts. Go ahead and drop this entire hanger. It will make it so much easier. Driver side is cramped getting that damn thing out of there.
Passanger side was a breeze. So much that I forgot to take pics. haha. Here they are for size comparison.
Now, the clamps are welded on there. I don't have anything to shave them off of there, so I used pliers to bend it back and forth until it broke.
After that, they just bolt back in as normal. Yes, there are only 2 hangers for these, but that's normal. These weight like 28lbs together. What a weight reduction. Anyway, here you can see why I used an extension.
Thanks for reading. I will post a video of the sound when I get a chance to make it. This was my first write-up, so it's not the best. Feel free to ask me questions.
