Have you considered calling DSS yourself? What you're saying makes no sense unless Pentalab's posted info is incorrect. $320+ shipping is a long way from $100.

Haven't had a chance to call last couple of days, due to work.
Tried this morning at 8:30, got a machine saying their hours are 9-5
I could swear on their Facebook page they list 8-5
Monday I tried calling about 8 times, kept getting the same voicemail message, that they're on vacation and will reopen on Jan 4th, but even though that was Monday, they weren't ready to talk with customers yet, apparently.
I will try to call them tomorrow.
Not sure where the $100 price came from.
RCV Performance has 2 joints that they say will work, one is $120, the other is $210, both plus shipping, both plus the grease they sell for it.

The $100.00 quote for the replacement CV joint was posted on their website 2-3 years ago, when I bought mine.

Do you have a link?

Edit:
Never mind, just saw that you said YEARS, not DAYS .... no coffee yet

So, since I was having no luck calling DSS, I sent them an Internet message via their website, telling them the story and that it's obviously the CV joint that's worn/loose/DONE.
A few back and forth e-mails later with their rep, I got the dude to put this in writing:

"When received we will be able to determine if the CV was the issue and if so it will be repaired at N/C."

And I now have an RMA # to return the shaft to them with, I am responsible for the shipping to them, they'd cover the shipping back to me, if I decide to go ahead with this, which I think I will.

Gonna pick up the shaft from the local shop on Monday, they aren't charging me anything since they didn't do anything to it.

That's pretty positive!! Hopefully it all gets resolved correctly!

Agree. That's a real good sign. A guess would be that they are just going to look for hammer marks, improper tool use marks, drill slots, road damage, or other signs of improper install prior to covering it.

Given the nature of the product and wide range of customer skills I could understand that line of thinking.

Yeah, I totally expect them to look for every possible thing they can look for to make it a customer-pay repair.

We'll see.

Nah, as long as there isn't any obvious outside road hazard damage or improper install evidence I think you will be fine. They have the parts and tooling to correctly repair it so it should be an easy fix for them.

It would be counter productive for them to deny service even if it's out of warranty.

Looking forward to the update.

My DSS mustang shaft has had no issues. My DSS corvette shaft blew apart a few weeks ago. They didn't warranty it because it was 3 years old, but gave me a nice discount on a replacement.

~1250rwhp, 1400 was a motor estimate.

Either way, I'm happy and support DSS. Great drive shafts. Wouldnt have ordered a replacement from them if I didn't trust them.

Are cv joints easily rebuilt?

The rear one on the DSS shaft is basically held in place with just a snap ring.

DSS received my shaft at about 11AM Wednesday 1-13-16 ... no word from them yet.

I wonder if it's just gonna show up at my house one day, repaired, with no communication from DSS

It's now been over a week they've had it and absolutely not one word from them.

I tried calling 3 times yesterday.
Twice I got a busy signal, third time I got the voicemail that they're closed.
Awesome.

I would be patient. It may take a few levels of approval and it will have to wait is natural place in line.

Also consider they probably have someone watching this thread so just keep that in mind.

Yeah I figured as much.

I have a similar thread on svtperformance too, so I'm sure they've seen at least one of them.

I'd just like SOME communication, I was a Ford Service Advisor for 10 years, my customers hated it if they didn't get a daily update ... I'm not asking for a daily phone call, but over a week it would've been nice to hear at least once from them.

And yes, the weekend was in there, plus a holiday on Monday, so not really a week worth of business days, but they've had it for 4 and a half days ... that's almost a full workweek ...

Called them today and got through to a guy in Tech.

The update I got from him: they haven't looked at it yet.
