Check out the attached dyno sheet and feel free to share any opinions or suggestions you may have.

Car is an '08 GT;
Flowmasters
O/R X Pipe
Non intercooled Vortech V3

Just curious to see what you guys come up with and possibly reinforce or discount some ideas I have.

did you ever get a base run before the vortech.the only thing i see is it looks like you are a little down in power.

yea those numbers seem low for a non intercooled kit. I've seen most non intercooled kits up in the 395-400HP range.

what boost you running?

Considering that smoothing is set at 5, that is a rather rough graph. Here's a comparison between mine with 0 smoothing and 5 smoothing just to show you the difference. Looks like your tune needs some tweaking.

also what type of dyno was used?

edit: I see that its a dynojet, but I also noticed 106* temps. pretty hot in there. Though SAE should have adjusted for that, no??

Let's see if I can answer some questions;

Boost is unknown since currently I do not have a boost guage but advertised at 8 pounds by Vortech.

It is a 5 speed car and I have no baseline prior to the Vortech.

And yes it was hot. This pull was done in Darlington at Mustang Week and the ambient temp was around 95 degrees.

The tune in the car now is the canned Vortech (read: stupid safe) tune.

I do find alot of difference in my graph and that of dysan. Particularly in the A/F area. With how choppy my graph is (and the smoothing set to 5) I know there are improvements to be had through fuel and timing.

If anyone has more non intercooled graphs I would be interested in seeing them.

Yea the A/F is a little wacky on the low and upper ends of your RPM band.
I'd get it dyno tuned and see if you can get a bead on what kind of boost you're actually seeing.

A/F looks fine if the IAT is way high. Also, if that is the case a lot of timing would have been pulled as well which would also show a huge decrease in power. Both of those things combined, 360rwhp is about right. Also, what kind of fuel was this tuned on? My guess is 91? On a cool day you could easily see a 30rwhp gain on a non-intercooled car.

i havent been here as long as other members but what i have learn here since i join is that with any power adder you want to get a dyno tune to be able to take full advantage of the power adder specially if is at 8 pounds through a non intercooled.

You sir are correct, I knew that to begin with but asked for additional opinions to be sure I hadn't neglected anything.

Also the comment about the heat vs the fuel and timing is also correct. I just believe that there's a good bit more there due to the erratic nature of the graph with a decent amount of smoothing already added in.

So thanks for the replies so far and keep 'em coming.

I ran a canned tune on my car for about 1 week, and before I relocated the IAT sensor in the right spot. 365 whp through my auto on a Mustang dyno, in cool weather..

I relocated the IAT to read correct after blower temps, got a pro dyno tune done and picked up almost 50 whp...Same dyno, same weather..This was over 2 years ago and it was a V2-SQ non-cooled..

Just a little food for thought...my friend (Mustang1200) has a Saleen s/c on his car. With a few tasteful mods it made 473hp at the rear wheels on an average day. A week or so ago we raced. It has been HOT HOT HOT down in here in DFW. I would say the ambient temp was 102ish with a heat index near 110. My car, which makes exactly 350rwhp NA, stayed right next to him from 30-110. Neither of us could gain an inch. All sorts of things come in to play when talking power numbers. Don't get too down just yet. Wait for it to cool down a bit and then try again. And, as I'm sure you already know, dyno numbers don't mean a damn thing.

I think we should all blame our low numbers on global warming. Anyone else? LOL

Oh I'm not down at all. Currently this thing is a great daily driver from a power perspective but the city mileage went straight in the toilet. So based on the A/F from the dyno and the erractic nature of the graph I felt like there was room for improvement to improve both power and mileage safely. I've never had a FI car before so I thought I would throw it out there for discussion amongst more familiar individuals.

You should also pick up some mpg when/if you get it custom tuned btw...

Trust me you need a custom dyno tune..You will see good gains from it..

WOT air/fuel looks fine. 12:1 down low is OK because it has very little boost down there. Could be leaned out a little bit above 5000rpm but I wouldn't go too much. I'm guessing that the Vortech canned tune has very little timing which is what is causing the 'choppy' graph. Mine did the same thing when it didn't have any timing in it. As has been said, a pro dyno tuner can pick up some power for you for sure, but at the expense of a little safety.
