Hello,
Hoping someone can help save the day here. Ive been working on this car for 2 weeks with no luck

2007 4.0L
Was driving one day and it shut off.
Would not crank. Could hear a relay clicking from SJB when trying to crank.
No fuel pump, either
-Fuel gauge reads empty
-odometer reads “————“
-guage cluster says “ODO Data Error” , and “Check Charging System”

After towing home, it cranked and ran for a few seconds and died. Dash still said the same things. Then back to no crank.

If i let the car sit for a few hours, it will crank again then die. Run time varies from 10 seconds to a couple minutes before it shuts off.

I also notice that when i turn the key on, if i hear the pump prime then i know it will crank. But if i don't hear the pump then it will not do anything

I plugged in my scanner and it has codes for all 6 fuel injectors on the PCM.

Also if i manually turn on the fuel pump with my scanner it comes on. But doesn’t come on with they key on as it should.

PATS light is not flashing with key on, so i think its not a PATS issue.

So far i have done:

-Replaced SJB, and cleaned mildly corroded connectors- made zero difference
-Swapped PCM relay, swapped fuel pump relay, swapped diode for PCM (#53)
-Checked all fuses in SJB, and DEC
-Replaced fuel pump assembly
-tested battery
-tested alternator

Im kind of thinking i have a bad PCM. I've done a-lot of searching and I've tried the things that seem to help but no luck

Please help. Thanks

It ended up being the PCM. I purchased one from a junk yard with matching part number. It does have an ABS error now because of the VIN mismatch. But other than that its doing great

So why not get it corrected? Yiu need Foracannor a Ford scanner and do what is known as As Built. They will allow the correct VIN to be entered
