So here is a question...will i need new fuel rails to get to the 550rwhp range I'm looking for? I'll have 60# injectors but I know absolutely nothing about the fuel rails...

You don't 'need' rails for 550 IMO but let me just say on your budget and reading all of your posts - make sure you stick to the plan and keep it at 550 or so.

Don't get caught up in the thoughts that you can handle more power, cause if you start pushing more cause your bottom end is built - it can get real expensive - real quick.

Right now I'm in the process of an engine/tranny build that hopefully should be ready to go by this week. It's been a long 2 months driving the wife's 3.5L Charger. I'm also aiming for the 550 mark. This build ran me $3000 and here's the list of stuff I'm having done:
SCT BA 5000
8 rib kit with 16# pulley
Diamond Pistons with Valve Reliefs
8-bolt 4340 forged stock stroke crankshaft
4340 H beam rods
File-fit 'Moly' rings
ARP 2000 Main Studs
GT500 Oil pump
Bowl work on the heads
Innovators West 10% OD Balancer
TCI billet servos and input shaft
Level 10 super pump and bulletproof rebuilding kit
PA deep transmission pan with dipstick

I eventually want to put in a new tranny, but my budget will stop me from that currently. I'd like to put in cams while I have everything apart, but the budget won't let me so that will have to come another day. Thanks for the input, if you have any advice at all I would love to have it...sick car man.:hi:

Lol I just never made one because the shop is 1hr away and my job constantly takes me out of the country, so I couldn't take pics like most of the build threads here. I figure I'll just post some vids after the build is done. Right now I'm just waiting for the balancer and a replacement water pump.

Sounds like fun. I don't think your going to $1K for your short block even if you left your stock crank in it, but stranger things have happened.

good luck with the build :beerchug2:

I like it all except your oil pump. Be smart and get billet gears in your pump or you are asking for trouble.

Somebody owe you a few favors? Is that $3K including machining/balancing/assembly? If so....then half that shit's either stolen or donated.

If you're looking into modmax internals then get with SD. Also get with him on a shortblock
Why didn't I think of that......... :roflmao:

I talked with him awhile back when I was making plans for it. I will soon talk to him again about it though :evillaugh:
Ok.....like....now?

What kind of problems could I run into?

Hahaha no it's nothing like that. Half the parts I got through great eBay auctions and the guy who owns the shop loves the military, so I got a good deal on the remaining parts and labor.
