I heard they took the stock antenna off, they are hiding 4oz !!!!!! we have all been bamboozled!
there is no way in hell that car is running those times with the stock antenna!

I'm talking about the 1/4 tank of fuel. On the stock runs they had a full tank, so by running with just 1/4, they took out almost 60lbs of fuel, which is a significant weight reduction.

It will be running at the NMRA Atco event this weekend! Stop by our 100ft booth and check out the car!

I have to save some information for the Magazine articles!

I understand, and I applaud your times with so little changes, it's just misleading if some minor mods that may aid the track times aren't mentioned. I'd love to come watch but I'm all the way down in Texas.

i dont think that they should have to account for every single little detail. i mean shit, with some of the things people are taking into account in this thread dude driving will need to "account" for the weight he lost if he takes a shit prior to making a run.

they ran legit, stop with the conspiracy BS, there is nothing STRANGE about the numbers they ran.
I wonder if everyone was on evan smith's ass for every mustang he ever took to the limit, asking about how much change he may have had in his pocket that day.

I agree and I'm not complaining about the fogs or anything that shaves maybe a few pounds, I'm talking about more substantial weight reducing measures that they might not have mentioned. When I said "minor" I really meant subtle and/or inexpensive mod but still helps a lot at the track.

What gives you the idea they are leaving things out?

Not anything in particular actually.... and I'm gonna end it now as to not dig myself in deeper, thus looking dumb and confused in the end.

The car will obviously have all the well known drag tricks done to it to run the best number possible. I would like to have more info on the hard parts being used but if they need to save it for a magazine article I can understand that. It just seems certain things are mentioned, others are are not. Everyones goal is to go as fast as possible with the least amount of modfications but if you are going to advertise what you are running you should be honest about every modification done to the car. If it needs to be kept quiet for publising purpose then keep it quiet.

Ask any NMRA pure street, or factory stock what he makes for horsepower and what gears he has... and wait for the answer lol

Ive told everyone about my set up but other's choose not to and it's to stay ahead of the competition in most cases. Evo just said they were saving it for the mags so give em a break

What would I have to be mad about? If they have a deal with 5.0 to keep things quiet then they should. They have been posting numerous updates on FB so obviously they are allowed (of choosing) to speak about the car. I would just like to see a full list of modifications done to the car instead of the ones they choose to tell people about. The new 5.0 is a great setup and I am excited to see what people can do with them.

well, i don't think there is anything magical going on, the chassis really is pretty much the same setup, the only real major difference is the drivetrain

so, figure suspension, tune, exhaust, wheels, tires,

there ya go,

don't think they've done a s/c or cams or nos yet,

I dont know what the big deal is over this 5.0 engine its just a couple cubes more with 2 more headache cams(plus variable timming). How long have 4 valve heads been out now on the mustang since 96. Equal the cubic inches with head flow and it will run the same if not better than the 5.0. I know some of you will hammer me on this but the 4.6 still sounds better no matter what.
