Hi all,

My name is Dan, I just picked up a Vista Blue 2006 GT that I flew from Denver to Arizona for. The Denver market has been tough to find a car that I was looking for, so a roadtrip was in order.

Got an OK price at the dealership, so I'm happy. The car drives great, pulls hard, and sounds good. Only issue is what I believe to be cam phaser noise at idle, but otherwise it's strong for 120k miles!

Now, the real questions I have are in regards to the suspension. I managed to get in touch with the previous owner who told me it has the following mods:

* BMR Front Lower Control Arms
* FRPP 1.5" lowering springs, unsure of which model
* Steeda Bump Steer kit
* GT500 Strut mounts
* GT500 Front Swaybar
* Adjustable endlinks (unsure of brand)
* 9" front wheels and 10" rears with 245/275 tires

Now, the plan for the car is to be my DD and serve double duty as a local level STP autocross car. I guess I'll have to make a separate thread about what is/isn't worth keeping from that list of parts. I've heard questionable review of the BMR arms but don't really want to spend $300 replacing them if I can avoid it. Wheels will eventually be 18x10's all around with 295's, but I really should burn off the tires that are on it first.

Picture during the roadtrip back (ignore all the bugs on the front, she's freshly washed now!):

Anyway, looking forward to being a part of the community and hopefully she proves to be a good car for me for quite a while!

welcome, lookin good, hope it doesnt succumb to rust up there in denver.

Im not 100%, but I think those early BMR A-arms had a possible problem if driven real hard? Can anyone else chime in with me? I know the newer arms dont have those holes in that supporting fin

Thanks all!

I try to avoid stupid questions and use the search button more than I probably should. I don't expect you'll have any problems with me. :happythumbs:

So I've noticed, I'm impressed with the response and the revisions they've made to the arms over the years. The real reason I might take them off is because STP (autocross class) allows me camber plates OR front LCA's, but not both. I need to ping BMR this week to see what the actual geometry advantages of their arms are, so I can weigh that against a stock one. The camber gain from a plate may be more advantageous than the reduced weight of the arms.
